I WANT REVENGE!!!!!
by worldlygirl inwell, it has finally happened.
my jw husband came home last week and told me he is moving out.
it seems he has been talking to the elders, and they feel his spirituality is being threatened (even though i have not insisted he stop going to meetings, i won't allow any jw material in my home because of my children from a previous marriage - i don't want them exposed to it.

Identifying with a religious group - what does it mean to you?
by CruithneLaLuna indirected to those who since leaving the dubs have attached themselves (strongly or loosely) to another religious or spiritual group: how would you describe the group, your relationship to it, and why it appeals to you?
if you want to mention the group's name, that's okay, but one thing i have noticed is that there is a vast difference in implications and ramifications between saying "i am one of jehovah's witnesses" and saying "i am a _____" - almost anything else.
exactly what identifying with the group means is at least as diverse as the groups themselves, or perhaps as diverse as the individuals who so identify.. i am personally acquainted with ex-jws who "are" roman catholic, protestant, what i call in a rather generic sense "orthodox christian," unitarian-universalist, buddhist, hindu, and a perhaps surprising (seemingly disproportionate?

Yeah, I get the same problem.
I still post, mainly to annoy people. I actually hold the record for the most posts that have gone down in history as major bummers, embarassingly enough. But, so be it !
I think that many people try to cling on to something ; religion is for the mentaly blind people, people always in a rush to cling to something. When I left the Watchtower, I had so many questions that I wanted answering. I thought I got the answers ! So many people were directing me to born again sites, listen to how Jesus is our saviour etc !
At first, I hung on to this, because I knew that I needed a hope in my life. Yet, I decided that all religious paths lead to the same road... a dead end. I don't cling on to any religious organization or following; I don't think I have to. On my death bed, I may devote my life to Jesus, as kinda life insurance
You do fit in my friend. It's good to have you here; I have read your posts and although I have yet commented on them please don't think they do not go unread. Many people simply hover on this site and say nothing at all; the info you post has just as much spirit as anybody else. Welcome to the board, my friend.
La via est dura, amigo.

Propaganda and the WTS
by hillary_step inpropaganda and blatant liar can often be seen sharing a beer together in the local pub.
the observer can differentiate them quite easily as at the end of the evening propaganda stabs blatant liar in the back and steals his underwear.
the common element that bonds these two characters in this uneasy friendship is an agenda that recognizes that matters cannot be presented to a person or group without needing to adjust or manipulate the facts to serve their own ambitions.

Great post, my friend.
Expertly written.
Do you blame us for hating the French ? I was on a ferry early in the year, going from Dover UK to Calais. I noticed to gap in culture.
On one side of the ferry, the UK truckers were dining, can of lager, fish and chips, eating with their hands, not looking at each other as they spoke, etc.
On the other side were the French truckers. Glass of wine, knife and fork, salad and dip etc, looking straight into each others eyes as they spoke.
I decided to sit on the English side.

Yes !
Check this out.
TO ALL BODIES OF ELDERS
Scriptural Freedom to Remarry: The 1991 textbook , page 135, paragraph 1, describes a situation where an adulterous mate unilaterally obtains a divorce over the objection of the innocent mate. In such a case, the guilty one is not free to remarry.
What if the innocent mate consents to the divorce by signing the divorce papers? Does this free the guilty mate to remarry? Yes, Jesus' counsel at Matthew 5:37 applies here: "Let your Yes mean Yes, your No, No." If the innocent mate, perhaps in an effort to protect herself financially or to obtain custody of children, agrees to a divorce obtained by her adulterous husband, the adulterous one is then free to remarry. Although the innocent one may claim forgiveness, by signing the divorce papers she indicates her rejection of the adulterous mate. Since she has rejected that one, she holds no further claim on him, and he is Scripturally free to remarry .

Cyber equality/Pretty boys lose their edge
by Maverick ini was thinking today about a certain poster who seems to have a hard time dealing with anyone who does not embrace his point of view.
he appears to be one of those big, very good looking men who is use to having people pander to him.
y-all know the type, pretty-boy, who the ladies, starting with momma, always think is wonderful no matter what stupid thing he does or says.

In the same way you should learn to accept their errors also, my friend.
Let all things lie, unless they affect you.
