Forum members spent more time to study the Watchtower then the dubs do
by Country_Woman innow that i have read a lot of threads and comments, i can only imagine that the majority of ex jws are (and were) much more keen to learn then the ordinary dub.
when i look to myself, i took everything for common, but once i start looking further - i found out so much -not expected- that i let myself fade away.
with another personality i should have disassociate myself.

Now that I have read a lot of threads and comments, I can only imagine that the majority of Ex JW’s are (and were) much more keen to learn then the ordinary dub.
When I look to myself, I took everything for common, but once I start looking further - I found out so much -not expected- that I let myself fade away.
With another personality I should have disassociate myself. (but I am lazy)
My observation is that most of the posters learnt to much to be comfortable in the WT - plus they could’nt stand all the non biblical veto’s anymore and than drifted away.
What do you think ? Are you studying even more today ? -

molestation vs murder
by amicus inthis is a something i have been mulling over for a while.
my thoughts are finally coalescing into something that i can say is now my "opinion".
i'm still open on the subject though (i think), so i thought i'd throw it out there and see what you all think (or should that be y'all?)..

I don’t know either, but I think that that are innocent victims in every war.
Some wars seems to be for a good purpose (like getting rid of Adolf Hitler and Nazi-Germany at the time) and while Japan was one of the allies those days and they proved to be very dangerous, those cities where bombed to force Japan into a surrender.
Don’t forget that the Japanese soldiers in WW II, where almost “brainwashed” the kamikaze’s (heavenly wind) where very willing to offering themselves for the Emperor.
That’s officially terrorism.
So is the killing of civilians, woman and children, merely for the sake of “if they are dead, they can’t do any harm at any point in the future”
For the war in Iraq are (my point of view) only financial reasons.
For part of the population in Iraq it may be much better that they got rid of Saddam Hussein, for others their country has been invaded by a hostile force.
My opinion is that the Americans and the English should have left the Iraqi’s to deal with their own problem.
As for Korea, I am not sure but what I remember it was fear for the communists.
Never the less, war is absolutely disgusting - but... is it honorable to free people who can’t help their self's ?
The no war policy from the Watchtower is one of the few (maybe the single) dogma’s that are good.
I don’t know , BUT.

by VM44 inyou can't bring a food cooler to the assemblies!.
wasn't there a post quite awhile ago where someone brought this up?
i recall that someone said that for lunch they had to go out to the local mini-mart and grab a hot dog that was simmering all day on the grill!

newbie and not understanding all of the aspects of this site
by Maggie ini have read alot on this site for a while and just have been absorbing it as i make my way.. one thing i noticed was alot said about abuse of children... i experienced the reverse...false stories told..believed by elders because of hidden agenda and 20+ years as special pioneers ..etc.
as of no count and belief in a new publisher destroyed our lives and children's lives.
the horror never stops ...some of our family is disassociated...some disfellowshipped...some inactive...some active..some on a fence...mostly because of one or two elders and the misapplication of their power and lack of love to our family.

Wellcome to the board,
as for your question about Christian freedom: hold on at the Bible and forget all the Watchtower stuff.
