well, a couple of nights ago i was kind of ashamed of myself.

let me explain.. i have a new job.

as a model scout.

I've also made JW jokes at work, and in most cases, they elicit lots of laughter. Nevertheless, I don't think this sort of conduct is wise. Many companies have strict policies that could be violated by making a negative comment about anyone's religion. Additionally, such conduct could potentially form part of the facts supporting a hostile work environment lawsuit.

It is my opinion that your workplace friend is not a devout JW but is a person with a propensity to get involved in legal action. I would suggest that you be very careful in your future dealings with this person.

DC scheduling

well, i was chatting with my mom this weekend.

she informed me that the summer convention was in early june this year.

which also happens to be finals week for my brother.

Why should the WTBTS corporation care that the scheduling of their conventions in June is likely to interfere with final exam schedules for JW kids? In addition to failing to ascribe any importance to education, the JWs have actively discouraged their "flock" from seeking higher education. After all, getting an education could take time away from one's pioneering activities, or, worse yet, could cause one to question the beliefs espoused by the WTBTS corporation.

Religious Authority an Enemy of Truth?

any person who has a decent knowledge of world history especially as reguards new scientific understanding know that religious authorities both christian and pagan have done much to suppress truth.. the reason for the supression is,.. it contradicts there religious teahings.. a question that begs for the asking:.

how much farther would have science advancements if religion did not fight against new understandings?.

too be fair many religious people have been good scientist, and have not let common held religious beleifs, hold them back.. .

Religion is indeed responsible for many negative events in world history. But let's not forget the negative side of science (e.g. nuclear bombs, killer bees, anthrax, greenhouse effect, etc.).

I think both religion and science should be carefully monitored to keep either from getting out of control. Imagine if religion teamed with science? This unholy union could potentially result in such things as humans cloned with genetic programming to become fanatical religious extremists (ultimate horror - imagine militant Jehovah's Witnesses!!).

guys and girls.

the society have now instituted carnivore - their data tracking system installed into the uk bethel to track all apostate email and activity.

the reason is the amount of "leaks" of confidential mail and facts.. they have tried and failed with legal blocking, so now they are plugging the leaks, these guys were brought into mill hill late last year after the leak of the june 1 letter.. their method is to use message boards and chat rooms for the "disaffected" and get them to go to other "society monitored" web sites.

Why would anyone want to live forever on an earth that is populated solely with Jehovah's Witnesses? I think I'd rather do the lake of fire thing.

Did we just kill Bin Laden?

there is a story on the news wire services to the effect that the american forces have killed some top leadership personnel in bin ladens terror network.

a contact and friend of mine that works for one of those nice 3 letter organizations said the guys were high-five-ing all over the place last night.

he said it was in fact his agency that pulled the trigger via remote control and "placed a hell-fire in the middle of the bastards".

Sounds like a good media pipe dream to me. Hey, if we do catch him, maybe we could force him to serve a life sentence at Bethel? That would certainly be a punishment worse than death!
