Should I have a Christmas tree?

My circumstances with my parents are similar to yours. I always have a tree at Christmas, but it was a bit awkward the first few times the parents saw it. I'm sure they were offended. They get over it. Live your life for you, not them.

Terrorists get 70 Virgins in Heaven?

i heard on the radio this morning that the terrorists believed that once they got to heaven, they each would be given 70 virgins to enjoy for all eternity.

hmmmm, i wonder how long it took the terrorists to figure out virgins in heaven aren't all females!

Amen, Englishman, training 70 virgins to perform would be an arduous task. I'll take the 70 sluts any day - now that's what I call heaven!

DEMONS SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME!!!!

since most of us here are ex-jws i'm sure we all have been scared of demons at one time or another as their touted reality is a basic cornerstone of the watch tower philosophy.

gossip and rumors dealing with demon attacks are encouraged by the society in local congregations and such stories frequently appear in watch tower publications to further strengthen the argument that demons are real and are ready at any opening to "demonize" us if we fall short of deserving "jehovah's protection" or foolishly venture beyond the protection of "jehovah's organization".. since belief in demonic beings is so widespread inside the jw community, current or ex, many have reported encounters with these minions of satan.

i take these reports seriously, for the most part, knowing how real demons once seemed to me i can easily believe that someone with a similar jw background may think that they really are the victims of such supernatural forces.

i do not have a religion / i'm not a jehovah's witness( / i do not read from the wt bible / i only read from the king james version which infact in future times i planned on having gold covers / i do infact have plans to change the world for millions(sooner then ya think) / i wanna lived like noah, obey and become righteous and survive the impossible(armageddon) and that's what i plan on doing, cause i live forever, survive up to the messiah's coming / i lose people daily cause in reality we all are family / i lost some close family members while back that's why i posted that 9/11 topic, i been though rough times, all i was trying to do is help / i have'nt been to a kingdom hall or church in about 15 years / i study at home with my gf and we ask the father & son for help and the help is always there / i only hate evolution & science / there is a differance between science & man's work / i dont believe in the trinity, cause millions speak from their tongues that the trinity do exist, but the righteous servants of the lamb(prophet) understood that jesus was not god, therefore it's impossible for any man in our time to know more then jesus disciples / america is not the greatest, god's throne is the only greatest / times that are bad and times that are ignorant and times that are unrighteous we shall overcome it and for be'hold our loving creator create new heavens & a new earth wherein we lived and the future is bright and the wicked fall quick and the good ones us we are the children of the light that light forever and we stay and lived forever and the dead rise up to enjoy the new creation that the father hath made for us......edited by - legendary u.2.k.

on a whim, i recently visited the jw media site and found this question in their beliefs faq at http://www.jw-media.org/beliefs/beliefsfaq.htm:do you shun former members?those who simply leave the faith are not shunned.

if, however, someone unrepentantly practices serious sins, such as drunkenness, stealing, or adultery, he will be disfellowshipped and such an individual is avoided by former fellow-worshipers.

every effort is made to help wrongdoers.

Good catch! The quote above really sickens me, as it is undoubtedly used by the blindly devout to justify shunning their children and other close family members who've been disfellowshipped. Any organization purporting to be a religion that mandates the shunning of one's own flesh and blood is really just a despicable cult whose tax exempt status ought to be reviewed.

" we are the cause of our destruction *(it's quoted different in the bible) / i believe that 9/11 was a bad day, we cry & mourn & move on, we get over it, i got over 9/11 in under 24 hours & to be honest i'm sick of hearing about it.... now i also understand that millions was not paying attention before 9/11 & they still aint paying attention.. if people would wake the hell up and read the bible they would already know that god already warn us to listen to him, and be on guard 24/7 cause that devil which we call satan exist and on the move to overthrow billions........ where is your faith?

jesus clearly said that not to sorrow for the dead, cause they will get resurrected when the messiah comes back- john 5 verse 28,29.. so get over it and heed jesus words....
