BIG DEAL EXPERIENCES
by minimus ini can't get over the the lack of depth that exists in the world of jw experiences.
years ago, the typical experience was how a person spoke the "truth" to one person and the result was that 10 bible studies were started and 7 got baptized in less than 6 months.
notice the experience from the czech republic that i will abbreviate from the 8-1-03 wt......2 witnesses talked to a lady through a closed door.

Are there disadvantages to knowing the 'truth' is a lie?
by WTLies inthere was a character in the matrix who, after being released from the matrix, got tired of the real world and wanted to have his memory erased and his body put back in the factory so as to live out his days in a dream world.
have any of you ever wished you didn't know what you now know about the wt, or wish you could go back to the life where you had a sure hope and belief as to what the future would bring without your current knowledge about the 'truth'?
being 'unplugged' does have it's disadvantages.

Actually I'm as happy as plum pudding on a raspberry tart that this isn't the truth!

Do you consider fellow posters as strangers?
by JH indo you consider other posters here that you know since months to be strangers?
some people will say, "i don't really know you, i never saw you in person, so you're a stranger".
do you have to meet someone in person so that he or she isn't any more considered to be a stranger?.

It would great if all of us on this forum could one day meet up together. There would be many interesting conversations, it would very therapeutic, I think it would be a blast.

Why It Is So Easy To Shun Disfellowshipped Family & Friends
by minimus ini believe that jehovah's witnesses have learned through mind-control that a "true" christian must "disown" all family and friends for the sake of the "truth".
if such disowning means leaving relationships with persons that no longer want to remain in the "truth", then that is the choice that they are making.
besides, if those that are shunned realize how much love their "brothers and sisters" really have for them, they might come around and get their lives saved after all!........any comments?

Basically they feel that a disfellowshiped person deserves to be shunned. They argue that they knew the rules going in and they have no one to blame but themselves. They also believe that the person is more "wicked" than they really are. But bottom line they are told to do it and if they don't they won't fit in with the rest of their "brothers"

What If Jehovah's Witnesses Are Right?
by shamus inthe "what if" thing comes to mind... no matter how much i strongly believe that they are not, what if armageddon happened tomorrow and they were correct?
would you have any sorrow for being wrong???.
i, personally would not.

If JW's are correct than that would go against everything that I feel inside of me. The feelings of rightness, justice, love, morality that humans feel inside of them are against the very teachings of jehovah's witnesses.
If they are correct than I would exercise my right to have a trial in front of God pleading my case. I would rather die with integirity than compromise my beliefs of justice and love just so I could selfishly save my own soul.

What were your HARDEST adjustments, after leaving JW land ???
by run dont walk inwhat things did you have the toughest time with after leaving the borg ???.
i'm sure family opposition will rank in the top 5, cut-off by people who you thought were true friends, finding work, fighting lonliness, immediate family problems (wife / children).

Samurai sword-wielding man terrorizes church full of Jehovah's Witnesses
by jgnat inthis is a local news item.
i doubt the link will last more than a day.
it appears the man had no connection to the jw's previously, he just considered them an "easy mark".
