"Working" Interview, wish me luck!!!
by maybesbabies ini have a "working" interview tomorrow for a really great, high-paying job!!!
i'm so excited, just last week i was despairing that i hadn't recieved a single response to all the resumes i'd sent.
the only problem is that i'm a smoker, and it's a smoke free workplace, so i have to hide my dirty little habit!!!

Ozzie's point for contemplation this weekend
by ozziepost inthe bible teaches that there is a redeemer for fallen humans...........
.................but not for the fallen angels.
any ideas?
-
micheal
Why wouldn't they get the same treatment as humans?
Because they will die just like Adam and Eve died. These fallen angels didn't have offspring, so there is no need for a ransom, they will have the same fate as Adam and Eve did, everlasting death.

My only guess would be that every human has sinned. Whereas most angels have not. Plus angels didn't have offspring who were brought into this situation innocently, angels don't procreate, whereas humans have.
Just my two cents.

Bare in mind that these are my views, i have been studying on my own from the king james bible for about 12 years.
Nice try, I don't believe you for a second. You have jw and jw "logic" written all over you. -

Knowing What You Know Now---Would YOU Try To Persuade a Potential JW?
by minimus in.
.....not to join, have a bible study, and learn more about the "truth" or would you not say anything, believing it's not your business?.

If it were the truth, of course. But since it is not, why waste their
lifetime. -

Do meetings help Depression?
by Gadget ini read this on another thread:when i asked if they knew my son had clinical depression, they said, well, even he says he feels better when he studies and goes to meetings, and shrugged their shoulders.).
i've been told this by my ex too, that when she attends meetings it makes her feel better.
anybody else noticed this?

I have to admit, when I saw the title of this thread I honestly laughed my head off. Do meetings help depression? Does critisicm of everything you have ever done for the last 20 years help depression?
They don't feel guilty if they've attended a meeting.
This makes alot of sense. That's why no one really looks forward to going to the meetings but they sure feel better after they went.

Love Is The Watchtower's Greatest Weakness
by metatron ini recently attended a witness get-together and found that despite my fake hours and lack of nearly all meeting attendance,.
i had no trouble 'blending in' - even with committed elders.
i'm not a social genius by any reckoning - but a smile, a few jokes,.

That may be true Micheal, but I agree with Metatron that taking the ``high road" and exuding a considerate, thoughtful, optimistic personality is not only the most principled course, but may well be the most effective way of puncturing the WT's stereotype of a skulking, bitter, self-important ``apostate" to anyone who shows signs of disaffection, fading or slowing down.
I agree 100%. But it must be natural and real and not a typical jw "love" that is forced and put on with only conversion in mind.

and expressing genuine concern about suffering people can go along way towards breaking down the mental barriers they
may have erected.
Yes, you may have done this but make no mistake, many if not all spoke behind your back saying in a very arrogant tone something to the effect, " Isn't it funny metatron can come to get togethers but can't make it to the meetings". Which really proves your point regarding the lack of love they feel.

Give All The Ways JWs Are Different From The "World" aka "Normal People"
by minimus inmy daughter was telling me yesterday that she was explaining the differences between jehovah's witnesses and other religions to her co-workers.
she explained that witnesses can't date "worldly" people-----only fellow witnesses.
she said jws don't celebrate birthdays because they are "pagan".......it dawned on my daughter that it was very incredible all the things jehovah's witnesses don't believe in or will not do.....can you think of different things that only jws do or do not do??

If their car breaks down on the way to the assembly, they blame Satan. If anyone else's car breaks down, they blame the manufacturer or themselves.
