My goodness what's this!! I hardly recognise these people! Is this Gospel music now? Is speaking in tongues and group fainting next?

Greetings NoMoreHustle.
It's quite an amazing thing to see more and more waking up.
When the viel is lifted waking up is initially the most disturbing and after then the most liberating feeling you may ever have. There is also no going back.
Once you KNOW you can never UNKNOW.

I'm not sure he is saying men are superior to women.. but rather that if she IS superior she must do her best and go all out to hide that fact and act like the weak simpleton she is not. Which too is just mental.

My wife sees the lack of love and.. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
by BU2B inin the past few weeks, my wife has been seeing more and more the lack of love and caring from jws.
for example, she is organizing a "princess party" for our 4 year old daughter.
a couple of the parents have expressed reservations about this since they think princesses may be "too magical" even though we know they have been to disneyworld, and watch the disney channel.

John 13:35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
If it's clear that that love is non-existent then what is she doing there? Simple logic would dictate that they are not really Jesus desciples.

Will the JW.Org Site make a difference ?
by Phizzy init will obviously make a difference to how jw's obtain their literatrash, they will have to download and print it all themselves before long.. it will make a small difference to the dtod work, they will now refer even genuine questions and interest etc to the site, not taking the opportunity to "witness" on the initial call at all.
this has been happening already to a degree.. the difference i am mainly interested in is the capture of new suckers in to the borg.. we will be able to see when we get 2014's figures, sometime next year, what the rate of increase was over the last ten years.. phizzy the prophet predicts that the rate of increase over the next ten years will not be significantly up.
probably down, but certainly, i feel, not so different from the last ten.. should i be around in ten years to do so, i will wish to ask jw's:.

No.. the entire content is too shallow and superficial and dumbed down and insults the average persons intelligence. The whole site is just plastic every single image and photo completely contrived and totally unrealistic and artificial. Check out the faces on that Awake cover above.. I mean what kind of people grin like Cheshire cats when looking at a religious website on some electronic device? it's all just so fake.
The non initiated may go there to take a look but I doubt much more than that.

That's the wonderful thing about so called history. Like the Bible it can be made to prove anything one likes. I try not to be too rigid any more with either. None of us were there.

Internal records now coming to light from the settled lawsuits may help explain why the church agreed to settle the cases. Documents show that the church knew for years that some prominent members were sexually abusing children and did little.

There is nothing wrong with pasting text when it's not your own. People do it all the time. It's called 'quoting'.
So..
How about the Washington Post?
Whether or not the contretemps at the university had anything to do with politics, it underscores the deeper, politically subversive nature of this material, which spans thousands of years of ethnic and commercial communication between East and West. It's not just the material found in graves and excavations, the perfectly preserved woolen robe carefully stitched together sometime around the age of Aeschylus, or the spring roll and won-ton appetizers from the time of Charlemagne, that overwhelms the visitor. Rather, it is the sense of possibilities - historically, politically and morally - that these objects offer. They challenge the viewer to think beyond, or think without, the categories of identity and politics that are reflexively built into the modern mind.

Or the Archaeological Institute of America:
No sooner did these mummies surface than Chinese authorities had them swiftly reburied—this time in the back rooms of a museum in Ürümchi, the capital of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, as the Chinese government calls it. It was a politically convenient place to stow the evidence and stonewall all the inconvenient questions they posed. But in the late 1980s, as China was starting to open Xinjiang to foreign tourists, the government decided to put a few of these stunning finds on display.

Or maybe National Geographic is more up your street?
The Chinese government attributes early revocation to the mummies fragile condition and the fact that they and other artifacts should not be outside of China for more than a year, which they would be if they stayed at Penn for the show’s duration. In China’s change of heart, some speculate cultural sensitivities– the mummies were excavated in the primarily Muslim Uyghur region– could have been a contributing a factor in the early return.
The announcement is a huge disappointment due the uniqueness of these artifacts. The mummies, excavated in the arid Tarim Basin, are remarkably well preserved. Visitors will be surprised by their mysterious non-Chinese appearance, hinting at a more complex history of ethnic communication across the Silk Road than has been previously understood. In the exhibit’s catalog, anthropologist and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Spencer Wells comments that the mummies make it seem “as though Celts or Vikings had been mysteriously transported into the middle of the Chinese desert.”

The independent
But the opportunity for new audiences in the United States to view the "Beauty of Xiaohe" – a near perfectly preserved mummy from an inhospitable part of western China – has been dealt a blow after it was pulled from an exhibition following a sudden call from the Chinese authorities on the eve of opening. The reason for pulling the mummy and other artefacts from the show remained unclear yesterday (Chinese officials were on New Year holiday) but there were suggestions that the realities of modern Chinese politics may have had a part to play.

why Jehovah's witnesses? not yaweh witnesses?
by purrpurr inthis i never understood, the publications say that gods name translated from hebrew is yaweh.
why add a whole bunch of letters and vowels that change the sound of the name completely?
i've often thought surely we would gain greater respect on the ministry if we used a name that is historically and verbally accurate?.

Well.. they think it's Yahweh but no one is certain about which vowels should between the consonants. But that applies to the name Jehovah as well. It's all just peoples guesswork.
I always thought that about the word 'Amen' everyone says at the end of a prayer. We go through 3 translations to arrive at the English rendition.
Why not just speak Hebrew?
