  Is this really a place for Jehovah's Witnesses/Friends

  i ask this because i was considering rejoining and the stories i have read only remind me of what was done to me.

  is there any clean place to go where good people and fellowship can be had.

  it sounds like maybe the people here should get together and start there own thing, like the reorganized latter day saints.

  after two months of not coming to my house, today about two hours ago, one of the elders that came two months ago came to my house.

  he was in serve-us with other brothers from the spanish cong and came into my house with a friend of mine (not another elder).

  he said he wanted to talk to me, and he said it in front of my mom and my dad (both were there).. what was interesting is that it seems like it will be a one-on-one for half-hour.

  Why lie about it? Why be weak about it? If you don't believe in it then what on earth are you doing there in the first place?

  All these lis and manipulations and decptions people are advising you to do here are just plain dishonest and slippery.

  There is no honour in that. It's cowardly.

  Be real. Just walk.

  i've heard this said in other posts, so now i'm going to combine it in one post.. the $28 million awarded to conti is only drop in the bucket for what they are worth.. there would have to be 100 s of successful sex abuse law suites before they would feel it.

  quite frankly i don't reckon there would be enough with the right circumstances to have a successful case against wt.

  having a dozen or so cases isn't going to break the bank.

  You're all forgetting about the prophecy where the 'kings of the earth' and the political system will seek to plunder all the bounteous goods of the worlds religious empires. That will include the JW's too.

  I want to grow my hair back out!

  a few months prior to baptism i had shoulder length hair which i loved and had wanted ever since i was a child.

  i remember sitting with an elder during a bible study and asking him point blank if i 'had' to cut my hair.

  whilst the answer was given slightly awkwardly the answer was a no, "there are no rules that say you have to cut your hair".

  in paragraphs 9 & 12 of the study article for tomorrow, (nov. 15th 2013 watchtower) they prove to the world that what they write and present as god-given truth, is nothing more than the guesswork and speculation from a few men whose lifestyle depends on their subservient direction from the gb, to come up with spiritual sound-bytes which will keep the sheep in anticipation of the time which jesus said was none of their business!!

  'Lone Survivor' Movie....Amazing.

  last night i was finally able to make it to the movies and saw 'lone survivor', starring mark wahlberg.

  i did a little research beforehand about the film.

  premise: 4 u.s. navy seals are trapped in the mountains of afghanistan during a botched attempt to capture a taliban leader.

  he is not baptised, but at university in his 20's and living away from home.

  his mother is a jw and his father is not.

  trying to convince my wife not to confess...

  during our engagement, we fooled around and touch each other down there.

  it's not a "tap" but definitely is not "stimulation".

  i tried to convince my wife, who, after 5 years of marriage, strangely felt guilty all the sudden, that its not do called porneia.

  This really is completely insane. How anyone can live with this kind of self imposed neurosis in their lives just blows my mind.

  This religion utterly tries to dominate each second of your present life.. they hold every minute of your eternal future to ransom.. and still not satisfied they hold your past hostage too.

  Is this the 'freedom in Christ' they speak of in action? Or simply mental and emotional slavery to the obssesive perversions of old men?

  I also hear people say things like 'you will be passed over for any privileges' if you grow your hair too long.

  That's for sure.. no more cleaning toilets, holding doors open, patrolling car parks, or holding the revered microphone in meetings for you mate..
