You are a Theist. Look it up.
i do not think god is a'morphic.
god is not human, so hence he does not possess human characteristics, to know god better and to understand him better i study science.
there has been a new discovery of strange signals picked up from black holes and distant supernovae suggest there's more to space-time than einstein believed.

autobiography.
forever began at the day of my birth, but, it turns out that it was a lie,.
i am who i am when nobody's watching, then nothing is there to deny.. .
As a boy
I was certain of only two things:
God's anger,-
and apparent inability to set dates
by the Gregorian calender
I was out-raged but in-doctrinated
And although it's complicated,-
all it really took was a couple of days
researching the couple of pages
before the book of Revelation
to destroy my faith in biblical inspiration
(for good)
i remember a thread popped up a while ago where their was a mistake in the subtible at the top of the page (ei: luke 1:25-53).
it's in the new revised bible.
i thought it was in the book of mark but i'm not sure.

I think this is the original thread.
i am not.
everyone makes mistakes..
No. I am personally ashamed of the self-deceit I engaged in and the mental gymnastics it took to maintain my beliefs... But I'm not embarrassed to say I did it.
Just glad I stopped.
i'm confused.
how can they quote verses 7,8 and say that david spared mephibosheth??.
verse 9 says he handed them all over to be killed.. .
Sorry for the delayed reply.
Thanks for clearing that up for me bro, I'd hate to give a dub a smug-gasm by letting them correct me.
Where would we be without this wonderful moral guidebook eh?
i'm confused.

"For that matter, it is proper to ask someone to show loving-kindness toward us. This was done by Jonathan, son of Israel’s first king, Saul. Jonathan asked his beloved younger friend David to show loving-kindness toward him and his household. (1 Samuel 20:14, 15; 2 Samuel 9:3-7) David remembered this when he avenged the Gibeonites wronged by Saul. Recalling “the oath of Jehovah” between him and Jonathan, David exercised loving-kindness by sparing the life of Jonathan’s son Mephibosheth. (2 Samuel 21:7, 8)"
The Watchtower 7/15 1991. Always pursue loving kindness. Page something or other.
Am I missing something here?
can you wonderful people please explain in simple terms what was the major doctrinal change in july?
i know it a biggie because it's talked about alot on here.. all information will be gratefully received.. thank you friends..
a loved one of mine who is now "out" mentally (and waiting patiently on other family members so they can get "out" physically too) pointed this change out to me after an assembly day just recently.
not being one of the chosen few who carry around the new silver spoon - they noticed the difference in their old bible as the speaker was reading from the new one.. .
nwt: but a physical man does not recieve the things of the spirit of god (1 cor 2 v 14).
@The Searcher: Cheers mate.
I guess the revision is better. Whodathunkit.
another of my rants.... .
why am i still scared when i read something that the jw's have written?
why does it still upset me to read jw literature?
I still get scared of The Big A now and again.
I don't believe it's going to happen for a heartbeat, but the old fear just kicks in from time to time and makes me feel like a kid again: waiting for Armageddon in every thunderstorm. It helps to go outside, stand in the storm and laugh to myself... At myself.
I guess a lifetime of indoctrination leaves its scars on people.
I like doubt, lets you know you're being honest.

RNWT: But a physical man does not accept the things of the spirit of God (1 Cor 2 v 14)
Seems an excessively accusatory change (however minor) given that the verse goes on to say "he cannot get to know". (I see the NIV does the same thing)
Anyone who knows Greek and can comment on the word that's being translated would be spiffing... As much as the words (in English at least) are interchangable in some contexts - this doesn't seem (to me) to be one of those times. A difference here could effect doctrine, or doctrine effect translation, no?
I'm quite happy to be corrected.
