to answer alligator wisdom's request for more info on myself...it will have to come out in trickles.
i am a prolific writer if i allow myself.
for now, i will tell you that until recently i was an elder.
Welcome and Congratulations on your partial escape!!
Your avatar really creeps me out. I hate snakes.
i believe the moment's right to discuss a very serious matter............................................................beer.
what do you like?
let's edumicate one another!
Blue Moon, Hoegarden and other wheat beers are my favs. I also enjoy a good blueberry ale or hard cider on occasion. Oh and Pete's Strawberry Blonde when I can find it. Mostly I drink Miller Lite cause it is cheap and has less calories.
i've been searching around at all the posts her just reading and trying to figure things out for myself, i just don't know what to do anymore, so i guessed that i'd tell you all my story and hopefully get some kinda answers.
so here goes...... born a jw, have been one all my life, baptized at 13 and was the good little girl in the cong.
when all my friends were up to badness.
Excellent suggestion on the problem list Jgnat!

I don't know if this would work for you but a lot of stay at home moms have started Ebay businesses for extra money. Whether it be making things or buying brand name clothes at yardsales for resale or other items that seem to sell well on there. That may help until the little one turns 18 mo.
It is good that you are seeing a psychiatrist. Keep that up.
If you can wait it out another 6 mo until the baby is 18 mo. then I would suggest you do. Then move out. Tell your hubby when he is straightened out enough to get a job and help around the house that you guys can discuss a reprisal. Until then, be strong for your kids and hopefully your therapist will be able to help you enough to be strong enough to leave.
Another thing my mom did when we were poor was to go to skint and dent groceries. She would go every day and buy soup that was good, but had a dent in the can for cheap. She would also go to the back of the grocery store where they discount the meat and veggies because that is the last day they will be good and she would make something out of that for dinner and get it all SUPER cheap. Here is a link for coupons in Canada http://www.save.ca/ hopefully you will find some things you use every day on there. Also if you go to a specific brands website sometimes you can get printable coupons there. Like if you use Crest toothpaste, check out crest.com, etc.
my wife left me 5 years ago when i left the jehovah's witnesses.
she got remarried saturday to one of "our" old jehovah's witness friends jay .
jay's wife, judy died 6 months ago of cancer.
I am so sorry to hear that your son is being treated that way. It is irrational and unreasonable. There is no way to explain it that makes sense. It only makes sense to JW's an that is all. I am glad your kids see the light and can remove themselves from them. Best Wishes.
i want to thank all of you for your words of wisdom and support during my breakup with my jw ex-boyfriend.
i honestly don't know how i would have handled the last few weeks without having this forum.
i had reached the point where i had no where else to turn.
CONGRATULATIONS!!
i am highly considering becoming a jehovah's witness.
i have been raised in the congregration, but left it when i was a child because my mom left too, but we still retatined the core belifs including the ressurection and the blasphemous pagan influence on mainstream churches.
my mom has recently returned to the congregation, and it has helped her a lot.
Although I had issues before hand with the lack of love in the congregation and quotes from the Daniel/Ezekiel books where they applied scriptures that definitely referenced Jesus to men in the organization, this is what really convinced me.
You stated:
-The true religion does not preach hate, only hate to what is bad, but not who is bad. Other mainstream churches preach hate toward muslims and gays. Don't forget the Spanish Inquisition and the Crusades. They did not listen to "Thou shall not murder".
Here are some organizational quotes:
*** The Golden Age 1921 Oct 12 p.17 ***
Vaccination never prevented anything and never will, and is the most barbarous practice... Use your rights as American citizens to forever abolish the devilish practice of vaccination.
[Emphasis Added]
This continued until 1939
*** Consolation, March 22, 1939, p. 21 ***
...the irrefutably logical fact that serums and vaccines are products of contamination...rise in cancer is attributed to the use of serums...for the best part they are but handicaps to inherent healing forces of the human body...these are by-products of pus matter...in reality and action it is worse than the proverbial "seven plagues"...One may go through life without having serious manifestations of what has been injected into his blood-stream, thus thinking he was "immunized", but, suddenly, it may begin its satanic work on his child, or even "unto third and fourth generation".
[Emphasis Added]
*** Consolation, May 31, 1939, p. 3 ***
[This is a summary, not a quote]
[Vaccination is a "cruel hoax" on mankind by Satan himself.]
[Emphasis Added]
Now look at your previous statement. How many children do you think died from not getting a vaccination? How many suffered? Is it the crusades? No. But, if witnesses had gotten their children vaccinated back then they would have been disfellowshipped and shunned by ALL JW family and friends for not obeying the organization. Did the organization ever apologize for such an action? NO. If you think that all of this is overlookable and OK then maybe you should be a witness. http://www.reexamine.org/quotes/vaccination.htm
Oh and also you should read Crisis of Conscience before making any rash decisions.
well everybody, i think a little update is in order here with what is going on in my world.
much has happened, and it appears that much more is going to happen quite quickly.
for those of you that don't know, the poster amber rose is my wife.
I am sorry to hear that the elders and mil are disrupting your fade. The same thing happened to me. I feel for you and hope that you and your wife are able to come out unscathed. Good Luck.
