I am glad that she is out but it really blows that they did that to her without finding out the facts first. Psycho elders.

a prostitute at 16 thanks to the WT
by mathilde inyesterday i promised i would tell another ugly but true story about sexual abuse within the org,so here we go:.
my ex comes from a catholic family.his youngest sister and he became a jw at the same time ( like me they had an elder brother in the org.but not much contact with the jw) my sister in law had a large family -7 children.6 of them very pretty but also rather stupid but then came young p, a very gentle, handsome and intelligent boy.he really stood out.
he was brilliant at school and they wanted him to study- but his parents said no.somebody from school came over to talk with the parents-this man said it would be a terrible waste not to let such an intelligent young man study, but they were unshakable-it was almost paradise time and this boy would never use that education for anything- so why bother?

Jws and Family
by VanillaMocha73 inok, so i have another thing to chalk up to the watchtower.
this weekend my dad told my husband that my mother actually asked my dad to divorce her because she didn't want to be married to an unbeliever and he wasn't going to get baptized.
not so much the story my mom told me all those years ago..... .

If you could repeat your life.
by DJK insorry for the edit.
this may have been a topic before.. i got the idea for this from crumpets thread "if i could make your dreams come true what would they be?".
i have been asked many times "if i could go back in my life and change it, what would i do?

I would have not gotten baptized at 13.
I would not have went to Home Schooling during High School.
I would have taken all the College Prep courses and I would have made good enough grades to get a scholarship and went to college without my parents approval.

Hard line stance taken-results are in!
by dawg ini recently wrote a letter to every family member i could find an address to which exposed the wt org as the group of fools they actually are!
interesting thing is that not one letter was sent to my home congregation by anyone and the letter circulated to almost every family member i have; so instead of turning me in as i suspected they would do, they are talking about it openly and distributing it to all family members-even ones i couldn't find an address to.
i'm winning this war!

Weird things relating to females at the KH
by Tatiana inwith all the news concerning the child abuse lawsuits, and from reading many comments concerning the wts' view of women, i started remembering lots of little things that were brought up at my kh in the many years i attended.
i don't remember anything pertaining to the brothers.
but, there were things brought up from the platform that just seem ridiculous.

Yeah, my parents always made me sit down while trying on new dresses to make sure it covered my knees both ways. When I started the fade I wore ALL my skirts above the knee. Dad said something to the effect "Don't you think that is a little short?". I said no and walked off. It felt great!!

The Spanking Hall?
by WTWizard inchildren in the jehovah's witness religion really have it hard.
to compare, look at other churches.
most of them have sunday school, and this is geared to children that are not able to really comprehend the deeper things.

I don't agree that it is WORSE than physical or sexual abuse. It is completely different.
But this abuse breaks the whole spirit of the child.
But, yeah, now that you mention it, I relate to that. I got better QUICK with age. Maybe that is why I am such a pleaser. My therapist points it out on a regular basis. I have to please people to feel good about myself. Wonder where that started? Just read your thoughts above. I had to please to not get punished. So simple but I didn't see it until now.
