there has been a few posts regarding happy marriages and the 2 witness rule which reminded me of an experience you might find funny.

i'd like to know if anyone else has done anything like this.... there was a married couple with 3 kids in our cong.

Just got a phone call

just got a call from my jw mom, she wanted to let me know that my dad was taken to the hospital friday!!

!, he had another heart attack.

he is on a ventilator and needs bypass surgery (again) but the doctors can't operate since his hemoglobin is low and he has been on coumadin (blood thinner).

hello all, just had an interesting conversation with a p.o.

elder and his wife who were leaving me a incognito invitation to the "follow the christ" convention.i declined the invitation, but told them i had an associated press article i'd like to leave with them about molestation settlements jw's made outside of court.

i asked if they were aware of this settlement.

did anyone else see big love last night?

when nicky's mom found her with the runaway and denounced her and disowned her, it was so familiar to me and i am sure many others.

it showed the pain nicky felt when her mother turned her back on her even though she was just trying to do what she thought was right.

Yep, I was suprised so many of them were willing to be on tv. The stuff they were spewing in defense of their faith was so one sided, like they are unable to see that they could possibly be wrong. They are so closed minded, just like the JW's, except in my opinion slightly nuttier.

an execution prayed for daily when they plead for the end to come.

Holy crap, I never thought of it that way before. I always viewed praying for the end to come was more or less praying that peace and love would return to the earth and all those hungry and poor will have their own fig tree and house, etc. I never thought of it as praying for an execution, but I guess I was. Weird.

Did anyone else see Big Love last night? When Nicky's mom found her with the runaway and denounced her and disowned her, it was so familiar to me and I am sure many others. It showed the pain Nicky felt when her mother turned her back on her even though she was just trying to do what she thought was right. On the other hand it showed the pain Nicky's mother felt, turning her back on and disowning her own child for her actions.

We know when we are disfellowshipped and or disassociated that it hurts our family members hearts just as much as it does ours but that they are so deeply entrenched into a religion that they can't see their way out to love naturally. I just thought this episode captured both sides beautifully. I almost cried myself. It REALLY hit home.

Did anyone else see it? Your thoughts?

i m free of human ideas or "divine".

Since mentally leaving JWs I finally can......

do household chores without the rush....... spend time with my little neice(now fatherless) without worrying..."i need to take her back home, i gotta study that wt lesson for tomorrow!".

hang out with my younger brother without thinking..."crap it's monday...that lesson in the "revelation" book ain't studying itself!".

visit my sister without thinking......."should i see her before the meeting or after field service?
