please, y'all out there..congratulate dansk on becoming a jedi master.. since we've been out (feb 03) this board and all you lovely people on it have been the greatest source of inspiration to both dansk and myself.

you'll never realise how much you have helped us to cope with the whole ordeal.

so reaching his jedi status is a real milestone.. you're all life-savers and you didn't even know it!!!.

Which way will the Society go because of the Internet?

i've only learned the truth about this society over the last 5 months or so, so i'm not sure what the difference is to say - 2 years ago.

do you think the society will now get even more cultish in it's methods of teaching and more heavy handed if they feel things are slipping?

i don't feel i'm being over the top here because i've experienced very heavy handed talks at the assemblies and kingdom hall in the past that are just plain scare tactics but this just makes people ask more questions ??

I think you guys are right, I don't see a next generation of witnesses. But as the numbers decrease the Organization will probably say that makes them even more sure they are right because very FEW will be on the straight and narrow road. They will pass is off as a sign that they have the RIGHT religion.

whatever you do, are you always the exception to the rule?

does it ever happen that you see a doctor and he can't understand your problem, that you are a unique case that he never seen before?

or if you go to the garage with your car, and have a problem that no one ever had?.

Yep, always unique, but hey isn't that cool? Not to be like everyone else. It keeps things interesting.

Have had cataracts since I was 18. I am now 26 and will most likely have to have them removed within the next year. Go figure.

The 10 point resolution adopted at the 2003 District Conventions

as most of you probably already know, from time to time the watchtower society likes to use district conventions as a platform for adopting silly resolutions, which more than likely are forgotten by the people who gave their approval to it by the time they leave the parking lot of the convention.

this year, during the final talk of the convention (talk entitled: "keep bearing much fruit to jehovah's glory"), a ten point resolution was adopted, with all the baby seal-like clapping following its adoption.

here's the main jist of the ten points (i didn't copy it word for word):.

i cant remember much up until i was ten except the usual no birthdays, no worldly friends or bad associates.

then it was a series of arguments of why i didnt what to go to church.

in a reply to me concerning my mothers prompting for us to join her at the assembly next sunday and then go to dinner with them, my husband confessed dinner and a good brainwashing were his idea of a good time followed by the next little paragraph that was so inspired, and sarchastic, i had to share.. by 'brainwashing', of course, i mean heart warming stories of.

By 'brainwashing', of course, I mean heart warming stories of

inspiration, an amazing Watchtower summary (how can they so completely

cover such an intense Biblical lesson in only half the time it normally

takes? Got me! No wait, power of Jehovah!) and an informative symposium

full of practical advice I can easily apply to my day-to-day existence.

A veritable feast of Spiritual food, you might say. Up to and including

Appetizers and Desserts. In fact, when you think about it, isn't an

inspiring tale of an older one in the congregation's lifelong devotion

to the Big J just like a well constructed Baked Alaska? But Better!!!

Also, much faith-strengthening fellowship with my Brothers and Sisters,

none of which are fat and/or stupid. Or lazy. Certainly none of which

live off the welfare and the kindness of others, mostly they're just

fully utilizing Caesar's provisions in order to subsidize a full time

career in the ministry. I am so f*****n' inspired at the mere thought.

(Of course, by "f****n' inspired", what I meant was "happified".)

I still turn in fake time. I figure I talk to people about the bible and that is time. I usually get a call at the beginning of each month asking for my time for the previous month. This past time he called late on the 4th and I was DRUNK! I just kept laughing, but turned in 2 hours like a good little girl. I am such a push over.
