So what did you reply was the best part of the DC for you?
I didn't. I am not in the business of causing trouble. I have taken up the live and let be motto. To each his own. and Whatever.
i didn't go to the district convention this year.
my mom however did and she sends out a daily text email every day.
she asked all members of the email group to share their favorite part of the convention.

She asked all members of the email group to share their favorite part of the convention. My friend who is also on the list, said her favorite part was the talk about how we should treat inactive ones. That the talk wen over how all witness should be extra kind to inactive ones in hopes of drawing them back. When did this happen? Most everyone I know just looks down their nose at inactive ones. Plus as my husband pointed out they say the exact opposite about disfellowshipped ones (don't speak to them, this shows them we love them and they will come back). Just thought I would share.
everyone, opened up thread for loubelle as she cannot open any more today.
check it out!
My god, if you do the feet thing, make sure someone is there with a video camera. That would be hysterical!!!!!!!!!!!!
this has probably been done before, but has anyone had any scary or funny things happen to them during field service?
i used to go door-to-door with the most obnoxious elder in the world.
if we approached a house, saw signs of life, but they didn't answer the door, he'd actually go around and knock on their windows!
Had a guy tell us once he was suicidal and if we didn't leave he would just kill himself in front of us. We promptly left and called 911.
Had another guy offer to cook us up a mess of dog. Said it tasted just like chicken. Said he had it in Vietnam and was hooked.
Was offered a beer and greeted by a naked person on more occassions than I care to remember.
We were chased off multiple properties by angry home owners for not obeying their Do not Trespass signs.
Guess that is just people in the south.
.

during our district assembly which will be held at a coliseum, we were told not to go outside during the intermission, and not eat in restaurants near by.
we were told to bring our own food and eat inside the coliseum.
usually, the coliseum offers hot dogs and hamburgers and drinks, but the brothers refused this service.. .
I always assumed they didn't want you to eat externally because it would take longer than they gave for break and you would miss the important song and beginning talk.
does anyone else experience this or is it just me?
my jw mom just called and said she wanted me to call her back on my lunch break...but she didn't say why....so now i'm all nervous and worried, wondering what it is....did i get found out on this site by a lurker?...is there something wrong in the family?....i don't know!!!
now i have this awful knot in the pit of my stomach that's going to stay there until i find out what the hell's going on........does (or has) anyone else have this experience with their jw mom or dad...where they say they want to talk to you, and u have to sweat it out until they're ready?.......
All the time and I am 28, don't know if I will ever over come it.
it was so ironic!!!
my jw parents came over for dinner (i have faded) and watched some tv with us.
anyways bart gets kicked out of public school and has to go to catholic school.
It was so IRONIC!!! My JW parents came over for dinner (I have faded) and watched some TV with us. Anyways Bart gets kicked out of Public School and has to go to Catholic School. He loves it and wants to become a Catholic. Marge freaks out and gets Ned Flanders to help her draw Bart back to the REAL TRUE FAITH. Bart keeps trying to tell them, it is MY decision to choose my religion. Why can't we all just get along. We are all CHRISTIANS!!! Can't we concentrate on the small things we have in common as opposed to the small things we don't. It was just the PERFECT EPISODE to watch with mind controlled parents. I am sure they didn't grasp the parallels, but it was quite ironic for my husband and I. Just had to share.
I am average on empathy and low on systematic stuff.
the new nin cd is so awesome.
sometimes it sounds like it's been written by an ex-jw.
you can listen to the whole thing in its entirety in the link below if you are so inclined.
AWESOME, I knew it came out Tuesday, but I haven't been out anywhere to get it. I will definately have to pick it up this weekend.
