Did you read that Belgium, France, Germany & Luxemburg are looking to form their own military group in opposition to the US invasion of Iraq? Of course they say it is not an anti-US-NATO move. But last time that Germany has it's own coalition we had quite a little war didn't we? I hope that the US does not have to start bombing them again. It seems closer and closer to them being the "other team." Also the UN re-elected Cuba to the top human rights body, "like putting Al Capone in charge of bank security." (US reponse) And, Russian President Putin also has put himself at odds with the US by saying that santions should not be lifted against Iraq until the existence of any banned weapons is clarified.

Could the world "go back in time" 20+ years?

the situation with sars in asia appears to be worsening and travel restrictions alone are likely to have a devastating effect on the immediate asian economy (singapore, taiwan, hong kong etc...) as a lot of these rely on trade and travel.. i wonder if the world could now cope with going back 20+ years to a time when fewer people travelled and international travel was a rarity for the majority of people.. nowadays we take for granted that we can jump on a plane and jet off to faraway lands ... but what if we couldn't?

i think one "benefit" (bad word) to sars is that it could put a brake on globalisation which i see as a bad thing.

Truth is SARS does not keep me hinding under the sheets at night. I doubt it is going to be the next black death. In fact put me down for $20 against.

BACK to secure boarders and the lack there of I think is the real problem. Should seriously sick people be allowed to travel period. I say no. I don't know what to say about China lying about how they have been failing to contain the outbreak but it seems that Vietnam did. (((YEPPIE)))

Didn't we have deadly outbreaks of illness 20 years ago? And 200 years ago? And 2000 years ago? Maybe this will make you pull the sheets tighter. It seems that illnesses keep "outbreaking" what will we be facing 20+ years from now?

forgiving allows me to go on with my life.

but forgetting is something different.

To me forgiving is not forgetting. Forgiving allows me to go on with my life. But forgetting is something different. It means to pardon a wrong. That's not always the right thing to do. Forgiving means to not hate the person who did the wrong and to not give the wrongdoer power over you.. But you can still want the person punished. Forgive & always forget, I don't. Do you?

What kind of man instills hate and fear in others in the name of God?

1Corinthians 5:13? Read the whole chapter. What was it that the holier than thou church could not decide what to do about? What was that young long dong doing? Paul was furious and so should the rest of us. But not Jehovah Witnesses. They are led by a different light. (No shock there)

Rebuke means to softly admonish "To rebuke the boy for smoking." It does not mean to shun for anything that fancies a dictator. And that is what JW Elders and their kangaroo courts are. If they want to shun that is their business. But I will not accept their behavior as Christian, humane or loving. It is petty really. A way to control people through emotional blackmail. It is their choice. But, it is a bad one.

Shunning for God? Never. Shunning for being a jackass? I can understand that. Shunning for FKing children? Jail or a noose, I am OK with either one IT IS A CRIME! In fact, I'll tie the knot; Let God forgive that; I don't.

JWD is what you make out of it.

It is honest and open handed. It is what you put in and what you walk away with. No one is forced to be here. No one is forced to participate. It is helpful, hurtful, chaos, maddening, enlightening, and good.

do we have a double standard as far as jws are concerned?

yes, i know that their claims of being better than any other religion sets them up for higher expectations.

and yes, generally jws are judgemental.

Yes I am prejudice when The organization of Jehovah Witnesses are part of any issue. They should not be trusted as a group. That does not mean that every JW rapes or eats their young? No; But if one does then will that person be brought to justice? How can I trust any group who considers themselves to be above the law? With what I know about them now I would be willfully stupid to trust them. I would be a hipocrite to call them "just another" religion. They, [JW's] are like any other addict. They could leave/quit anytime they want to. The problem is they can't want to.

(If that makes me a bigot in your eyes then to you that is what I am.)

Search I agree with you. Bill O and his ilk don't always sit well with me but I think I understand what you mean. I hope we talk more about this issue.
