have you asked your lady friends and female relatives what you are doing wrong and even though you have followed their advice, you are still confused?
have you asked your girl friends what they want and done it and still not know what is going on?

You know me better to think that I would blow smoke. I'm not trying to git ya riled up. You're right about trying to help someone to know the signals to watch for if they are being played for a sucker. I for one appreciate your efforts. I wish someone had let me in on some secrets beforehand.

Perhaps it's a failure on both sexes. Look at the individual and look in your heart. We've all been hurt and burned. What is it that you can possibly say that is going to make women suddenly appear in their lives like never before...?
In regards to "running the show", why can't it be an equal participation? I'm not one to manipulate my way into someone's heart. If they don't like the package as it is, well, they're making men every day. I'll just find another. There is no sense in living a lie.

There really are women out there who know what they want and can tell a man what it is they want. I believe that because of past relationships we begin to pre-judge what the outcome will be when we say or do something. I've heard "you're probably going to get mad when I tell you this, but..." Surprise!! I didn't get mad. What they said to me was not said in anger or to belittle me or hurt me. How they said it made a difference in my response. Color him shocked when I didn't throw a hissy fit. There has to be mutual honesty and respect. That is what makes it work. Not the money...not the looks. I've dated financially secure and dirt-poor. What makes the difference is how they treat me...not what's in the bank or how they look. Looks fade and bank accounts decline.
Not everyone is shallow.

Maverick - How well I know about the dangers of credit cards. The convenience...the high interest rate. It's like paying double for something. I don't qualify for aid. It's just a bit of a squeeze right now. I'll be fine. Thank you...((Maverick))

Any Radio/Former Radio People on the Forum?

Oh my...I haven't thought of those days in ages. I was never the "on-air personality". I was one of the voices in the commercials. It started in college. We were all in theatre together. Phil was working at the local radio station in Nacogdoches as the late night jock. One night he called my place asking where everyone was and did I know where to find them. Now you have to realize this was before cell phones and pagers. You had to actually dial a phone. I told him "Well, they all here. We're watching the Tony Awards." So, after the awards, we all caravaned up to the station. Seems that there was a new account and there needed to be some commercials made to air during the lunchtime news on the AM side. Yes indeed...Monday through Friday during the lunch hour I could be heard promoting Adam & Steve's House of Carpet in Nacogdoches, Texas. You should have been there. We came up with the scripts. We made the sound effects. It was a riot. Heck, I still remember some of my lines.
Thanks for bringing back a sweet little memory of a great time.

Fireworks... Pure Joy.

In the apartment complex where I live, I'm on the fourth floor. The complex is set by the canal. It's very nice. Every year, the city has a fireworks display set to music performed by the symphony. If you go to the landing on the back stairs, you have a perfect view of the fireworkd. This year we were able to see not one...but three separate cities having there fireworks display. It was something to see. A quarter moon, a cooling breeze, and the sky alight with fireworks.
