  And what race is homosexuality? I thought it was a sexual orientation or preferance. I suppose a black minister or Jewish rabbi suddenly becomes racist if they refuse? I could care less what the Bible says about homosexuality, but I support any religion being consistent with their conscience if they do not want to marry a same sex couple. (even Muslims)

  When does the forcing people to do things against their conscience stop? What if I want to marry 2 or more women? What if I'm not Catholic, but I want to be married in the big Catholic church?

  Issues like this are better served if gay couples also respect the beliefs & consciences of others. They can just simply find someone to marry them that does not have a problem with it. Simple as that.

  Obviously you don't understand sarcasm. Let's be very clear MASH...NO we are not pals. By me saying pal, I might be calling you an a-hole.

  Nothing I have said equates to homophobia. I simply take the position that people should have the right not be marry same sex couples if they have a religious belief against it. You obviously have a problem with freedom of religion.

  If it's a licensed wedding business, then they should welcome and marry everyone. If it's a private denomination they should have the freedom to marry whoever they want.

  Gay couples causing a Christian Pastor to be jailed for politely declining to marry a gay couple is ramroding their beliefs down his throat. Some Christian Pastors probably do think marrying a gay couple affects their eternal salvation. That's probably why they refuse to want to do it.

  Good grief....quit trying to make people do something they don't want to do, and simply move onto finding a minister that has no problem with it. Freedom is that simple.

  If this is true.....I would surmize that it does have to do with the recent rash of Watchtower pedophile reports in the news.

  I would surmize a Zone meeting like this could a have 2 fold purpose. (1) The Watchtower could annouce what has been going on, but they get to spin it however they want. In the eyes of the R&F it would look like the GB must be telling the truth, because they are showing transparancy. Of course, all the GB has to say is that it is NOT true, and that it is an attack on Jehovah's Organization by Satan in an attempt to cripple it financially in order to stop the preaching of the good news of the Kingdom. (2) After that, all the GB has to say is words to the effect "we need your money to fight Satan's attack" "are you going to let Satan win and stop the preaching work?" "Jehovah is testing your faith....will you give more money or not?" etc, etc, etc.

  I think they could pull in milllions more dollars if they made it sound like a Satanic attack on the Organization, and that giving money could be equated with winning this Satanic attack. So many JW's lead a double life that any hope of giving money and buying a good conscience would be jumped on eagerly. Old witnesses with money would happily sign over estates in order to personally have a hand in the battle against Satan. Many who never had much of a Service Report could easily be suckered into buying their way into Paradise.

  The Watchtower changes so much now, that it's always fun to surmize what the Watchtower could be up to next. LOL

  AlphaMan you're right... those people " declining to marry same sex people" should be praised for their views, I mean what's next mixed race marriages!? Oh, wait, damn it.

  Don't single me out pal. I made it clear if it's a public wedding business, then they shouldn't discriminate. However, a private clergyman should not be forced by jail threat from the government to do something that their religion doesn't support. That is freedom of religion. This country was founded on freedom of religion. Gay couples should repect this and simply find a minister or state official who will marry them. I could care less what gay people do, but what really bothers me about this is how the Christian pastors were singled out, when everyone knows how Muslims feel about gay people. Gay people have gained a lot of acceptance, but they lose support when they try to ramrod their beliefs down people's throats who simply believe differently. Who would even get enjoyment from making somebody marry them that politely declined because they thought their eternal salvation would be compromised? Just like a JW elder who refused to marry a DF'd person....I would just simply move onto finding someone who would marry us.

  Good grief.....don't those city officials have anything better to do than threaten Christian Pastors with jail time for politely declining to marry same sex people? I can see maybe enforcing a public wedding chapel business to treat everyone equal, but to force individuals to go against their bible beliefs is just wrong in this country. A gay couple could just as easy go to the Justice of the Peace or find a Minister who has no problem marrying them. What will the Government make people do next that is against their beliefs?

  now i must face the fact i have muslim friends who say they believe the koran.. well i have asked these muslim friends, if they have investigated the origins of the koran.

Amazing that living in New York City, America she gives more sympathy & tolerance to Muslims than she does to Christians.

  i started perusing it this weekend and wish i had found it 10 years ago when i was on my way out.

  anyways, long story short, was df'd for you guessed it...fornication or "loose conduct" even though i had been a pioneer with an elder father, grandfather and uncle and no previous issues.

  oh yep...here we go..... this weeks service meeting has a part designed to show how children should be indoctrinated and manipulated into going "out in service".

  the part first asks for the disturbingly corny cartoon clip to be played on the big screen at the halls: "lets go out in service!".

  Are you kidding me? Meetings now have a brother saying "roll the clip", and they play a Watchtower cartoon on the big screen TV? This religion is completely different from the JW religion I left. LOL
