in official jw think, is there anyone worse than an apostate?
jws are supposed to believe that apostates are worse than serial killers, or child molesters, or even hitler, right?
it's been a while for me so i may not remember this exactly right or what i remember may now be "old light" so i'd appreciate it if anyone could provide an update on the latest jw position on this.
This is what I found in the Feb 8, 03 Awake page 13
"Some people who were once faithful Christians have purposely drawn away form God, perhaps because of bitterness, pride, or greed, and are now apostate fighters against God's spirit. They willfully oppose what the spirit is clearly accomplishing. Have these individuals committed the unforgivable sin ? Jehovah is the final Judge. -Romans 14:12"
Don't you just love how "Jehovah is the final Judge", yeah right LOL (it's more like the elders are our judges). Apostates are scum, there's nothing lower, we're not even fit to exist (according to jws). We are bitter, full of pride and greed, there is no other reason to leave the jws but that. That's how they see us. We are enemies of God, because we choose to speak against the WTS.

i live in a new england style house (salt box) with wood siding.
i have a great room with 3 skylights 4x4 and a balcony over looking the livingroom.
what kind of house do you guys live in?

I live in a small but cute split entry, 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, dinning room, a basement, a one car garage that's filled with too much stuff so the car won't fit, on about 1/2 acre of ground. It's decorated with antiques and flea market finds that my hubby and myself refinished. I like taking a sad looking, ugly piece of furniture and making it beautiful again. Through the years I have collected some really nice pieces of furniture. We were looking to buy a bigger house, but we were hit with sticker shock, so for now we are staying put, we have a really small mortgage payment.

i am having one of those days.
it all started yesterday when i was picking up some work from a client yesterday nearby.
when i walked in the store, the nora jones cd was playing and i became emotional.

Thanks for sharing this Blueblades. That really describes my hubby. I've spent so much time researching the jws and shown him all kinds of shocking things, the U.N., child abuse(he actually watched Dateline), proving the FDS is really nothing but a bunch of controlling old men, history of the Watchtower org., blood issue, disfellowshiping, etc... He wouldn't budge, he still believes with all his heart that the jws are the only true religion. We just end up having a fight. I've given up. He is going to have to have his own "epiphany". I just try to be a happy, loving wife to him, hoping one day he will have his eyes opened.
Since he won't listen to anything that I have to say, I ask him to just listen and think about what is being said at the meetings, think about what you are reading in the jw literature.
What hurts me is that I have shown him all this evidence that he can't deny, that he doesn't trust me enough to look into it himself. That's all I ask of him.

have just gotten out of the hospital after having hemmoragghic stroke 7 weeks ago.
i was having a wonderful lesson on my horse, and the trainer noticed something wrong, and said barb what 's the matter with your face?.
i said i don't know, well he ended the lesson.

are there any things you threw away when you became a witness that you now regret throwing away?
My Mom gave my hubby (a Catholic at the time) a figure of praying hands for a Christmas gift. My uncle went to New Zealand and brought me back an abalone shell teakie (sp?) figure key chain. A sister saw it and pointed it out to me, so of course I threw it out. My Mom was real hurt that we threw out the praying hands figure.

i've not been posting for some time as my dear husband has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

does anyone out there now wear a cross or would you still feel guilty wearing one?
I have a beautiful silver Celtic knot cross that's from Ireland. I bought it a couple of years ago, for some reason I just had to have it. I have never worn it because my husband is still a jw. Maybe one day I'll be able to wear it.
