  Am I an "apostate"?

  i was wondering if i am considered one by the wt defintion.

  i have never been a jw in my life but i disagree with their doctrine.

  are all the "worldies" considered "apostates" or just the ex jws?

  Nathan: my mother was not baptized, yet she was shunned after visiting a baptist church, when she was dying of cancer no less, and still believed the WT teachings. does that happen often?

  Blues brother: sounds like your wife is very strong in her faith! I havent yet met a JW who was.
  highlandyr: a very thoughtful reply. I think we would have to start a whole new thread to address the issue of whether there is any God at all, or whether there was a Jesus Christ. I believe there is an abundance of evidence that Jesus did walk the earth, the twenty seven new testaments documents aside, and most(not all, i said MOST) historians would agree with that. The issue I broach is, given that the Bible is God's word, what does it actually say? If you don't believe in the bible at all, the questions i ask are irrelevant to you. I understand where your coming from, its only been a few short years since I had much the same opinion you do. BTW, I am a "ma'am" not a sir. :)

  Carmel: I don't see why you would call me a "troll" isnt this the place to debate issues relating to JW's? Am I a troll because I am putting my thoughts in the form of questions? JW's and their doctrines have personally affected my life and if you don't think i have as much right to be here as anyone else, i am sorry you feel that way but i am not leaving. Sure, I would like to be accepted by this group but as who I am. What could I write that would make you like me? Would you prefer I wrote only comments you would agree with? What constitutes "troll"? BTW, what does bibdefs mean? Forgive my ignorance. I am not looking for a "fight", simply an open debate on what it is the bible actually teaches.

  Rhett: cute..... i am asking JW's who do believe in the bible. :) I would expect someone who doesnt believe the bible to reply just as you have.

  apostate man: your comment illiustrates why i asked the original question, i was under the impression that anything that contradicts the witnesses was "apostate"
  I ask the questions with the given understanding that the bible is indeed the word of God. The point about the questions is that using JW logic none can be answered and agree with scripture. If the JW reply would be what seedy3 said, i have more questions:
  1. How can Jehovah be the Lord if the Bible clearly states that Jesus is the one Lord? 1cor 8:6
  2.How can Jesus be the Savior if the Bible clearly states there is no savior besides God? Is43:11
  3. If something, anything, is not true, doesnt it make sense that it must be false?

  The point I am trying to make is that the JW's do NOT teach accurately what the Bible says, although they drop mags off at my house that go on and on about making sure one has "accurate knowledge". They would like to convert my family and my neighbors to their religion. They come to my home and tell me i'm going to die in Armageddon if i dont join their group. They seek out Christians who are weak in their knowledge and proceed to dole out their false teachings. If it makes me a "troll" because i am challenging their teachings and not just complianing about the shunning, the molestation, the deaths, and all the other stuff(which i do think those things are important and applaud those who expose the WT on those subjects) well i guess i am a troll.

  Heres my three questions:
  1. Is Jehovah the Lord?
  2. Is Jesus the Savior?
  3. Is Jesus a true god or a false god?

  Seem like fairly simple questions to me.....

  I must not be a real "apostate" since i dont know the secret handshake :)

  So since i have never been a witness, i am not technically an "apostate" , right? why then do the jWs that come to my door run away when i start talking to them about my belief in Jesus? :) Even the ones on this site won't answer three simple questions. aren't they supposed to try to convert me? Don't they care that im going to die at Armaggedon? If God is with them, why would they be afraid of little ole me? What do they have to fear?

  lie 1.An untrue statement made with the intent of deceiving; a falsehood. 2 That which creates or is intended to produce a false impression. lied, lying: 1. To make and untrue statment or statements, esp with intent to deceive. 2. To give an erroneous or misleading impression

  WT 2/1881 p188- "New light never contradicts old light, but adds to it"
  WT 2/15/1933 p 51: "There are no scriptures in Gods word that are contradictory. All are in exact harmony"

  now see WT 4/2/1920, p103- "That it (the finished mystery) contains some mistakes is freely admitted. Even the Bible contains some"

  Which is it? How can scripture be in "exact harmony" and yet "contain some" mistakes? One of those statments must be a lie.

  Heres a doozy:" The Bible is organization minded and it cannot be fully understood without our having the theocratic organization in mind." I believe this is a lie, esp the second part of the statement.

  talking about the Trinity, WI 4/1/1970: " The doctrine, in brief, is that there are three gods in one" This is not what Trinitarians believe! Believers in the triune God believe that there are three PERSONS in ONE GOD. Its the JW's who believe in three seperate gods: Jehovah, Jesus , and Satan.

  WT 8/1/1972 p 458 "The organization is controlled altogether by God and by the forces he operates"

  But this one, this one i think takes the cake: WY 6/1/1960 p352: "Lying to God's enemies is not really lying but war strategy"
  This statement alone proves that the WT condones lying when it suits their purpose.

  hello all... i came across this line of questioning many months on the inet so i decided that i would submit just this once to peer pressure and make a usefull contribution to the board.. here is the question... is jesus just "a god?".

  many of the regular inet surfers would have come across this line of questioning before so if you have you could just sit back and relax and read the replys.. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>.

  Apostate man:
  thats right! they do believe in a trinity don't they? not one triune god but three seperate gods! 1+1+1=3! And one of their Gods is Satan.....*chill* And they would say that my God is some three headed monster! I guess the witnesses around here have stopped responding to this thread......
  
  i really want to know their answers! i get witnesses at my door wanting to tell me this "good news" of which i am still not clear exactly what they think the "good news" is..even after reading an article about this supposed "good news"...seems they love to talk about the end of the world, but get too deep into talking about Jesus,and first they dance around the subject, and then start posting other threads with cut and paste articles instead of defending their faith.

  Bang, i suppose your right, we can't expect them to believe in Jesus as God because we say it is so. i could not believe it myself until I saw with my own eyes that this is what the Bible says about Him. Can't they look with their own eyes and see what the Bible actually says? Its just so amazing, they go on and on about recieving "accurate knowledge" and yet they simply ignore the evidence in the Bible and even their own publications. It must be because they are taught to "fight against independant thinking".

  It would be one thing if they were spreading these false doctrines among themselves, but they are out to convert me and my neighbors with lies and double speak. This bothers me. People have a right to believe what they want, even if its a lie, but they are out there actively misleading Christians away from Christ. And they call themselves Christian! They don't even really want to TALK about Jesus and yet they think they are the only true Christians! How does this add up?

  JW's out there, if i am wrong, show me where in the Bible! If i am mistaken, set me straight! If you are right, i am going to die in armageddon VERY soon so can't you answer my questions?

  Is this the same as YoYoMama? I didnt realize but I have seen some of his drivel. Seems he would rather poke fun at things he doesn't understand than answer legitimate questions.
  I just don't get it- can't JW's just answer the questions straight out? If they think Jehovah is not the Lord, why don't they admit it? If they think Jesus is not the Savior , why don't they admit it? If their religion is true, can't they give a straight answer to a simple question? Aren't they supposed to make sure of all things?
  You Know just kind of spun around the question. If Jehovah made Jesus a "god" how does that reconcile with other scripture that states there was no other God formed, before or after God?
  You Know,
  can you give a straight yes or no answer to my questions? Not some long essay, just simple yes or no will be fine.
