Where were you?

sorry if this has been done to death, i only did a quick scan and didn't see a topic like this, so i appologize in advance if this was started someplace else.. this morning i woke up and thought about where i was last year, and the complete shock i felt at this same time last year...and i was just wondering if any of you had those same feelings this morning.. so where were you?

i always find stories of what people were doing at the time they heard to be really interesting-please share if you'd like.

My friend woke me up with a phone call to turn on the tv, the world trade center was hit by a plane. When i turned it on (still half asleep) they were showing the first tower being hit......at first i thought it was a horrible accident......then i saw the second plane hit the other tower. That was when i realized it was no accident. By the time i saw it on Tv, the towers had already fallen (i am on the west coast). I cant imagine what it must have been like to actually watch those towers fall down, it was plenty horrifying watching it on the tv.

well, the girl can downright sing!

i'm happy she beat out justin (even though he is from my locale).

personally, it should have come down to kelly vs. tamyra, but i digress.. questions:.

Kelly is the bomb! She has such an awesome voice. She does sound sort of like Mariah, but i think better. She has a bit of a Wynonna/Elvis thing going too.Justin is a class act. Nikki........the best singer in her local karaoke bar and thats about it. Her voice lacks range. She has a "look" to her, but i wouldnt call it original, more like...eighties Recycled Madonna. When she said she sounds just like Stevie Nicks , i about hurled. She is nowhere near as talented as the great Ms. Nicks. plus she used her kid to get the sympathy vote, tacky. Sorry, im sure she is a nice person, but i think she shouldnt have made the top 5, much less the top 3. IMO.

America made the right choice.......Kelly is the best!

What do you like to watch?

ok...not that there is anything wrong with serious threads (i for one enjoy them) but i was looking through the ones today and decided i needed a bit of fluff in my day (been way too serious lately).

so my question is..even though its rerun season...what tv shows do you like to watch?.

myself - i was an avid "x-files" fan but alas they have ended the series .

I watch different things...during they day its things like Blues Clues and Dragon tales (i have two small kids:))..I watched ALLy McBeal until they cancelled it...Touched by an Angel..........That 70s show......The OReilly Factor.....My husband is addicted to the Osbournes(he calls it "the Sharon show" *L*.........And IMO the very best new show this year? The Dead Zone--new episodes all summer Sunday nights on USA, starring Anthony Michael Hall-if you like sci-fi/stephen king type stuff it is a MUST SEE. AMH has really grown up since sixteen candles!

the local paper ran an article today (from cox news service; you may have seen it already) on the religion page, "god, that's funny!

" it's about some bible "experts" testifying that god does, in fact, have a "funny bone.

" in other words, that it's ok to poke fun at religion in general, or even to tell jokes about god.

Dear Lord,

So far today, God, I've done all right. I haven't gossiped, haven't my temper, haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or over-indulgent. I'm really glad about that. But in a few minutes, God, I'm going to get out of bed, and from then on I'm probably going to need a lot more help!

God has to have a sense of humor.....look at some of the creatures He has made :) duck billed platypus, anyone?????

Hi. How are pomegranates associated with Easter? I have not heard of that. And I celebrate Easter.

I HAD heard that pomegranates are associated with the myth of Persephone and Hades. Do we have another parallel?
