in a minimus moment, i find myself interested in knowing which buzz-words and phrases in jw publications stand out the most to you?
when i read wt literature, i constantly find myself astounded by how transparently cultish the language is.
in an earlier, unrelated thread, i said the following: .

when people comment straight from the paragraph
"the article brings out"
"the paragraph brings out ... such and such"
why dont you just read the whole darn paragraph for petes sake??!!!!

"well you know we ARE in the last days!"

whenever people look at my cd collection, they'll come across blue oyster cult, black sabbath, iron maiden, led zeppelin, etc.
but then they'll come across something unusual.. right now i'm listening to "kenny rogers - ten years of gold".
my parents had this album, and i loved it.
I have a ton of 80's music, from bad hair bands (Poison, Whitesnake,Rhatt)
to hip hop (RunDMC, Beastie Boys, Ton Loc)
But among that collection if you look really hard, you will find several CD's that really dont fit in with the rest of my collection

i had a talk with my best friend (who is still an active jw) the other day, and told her that i wasn't interested in remaining an active witness any more.
i knew she would accept my feelings, because she's a wonderful person and is actually very emotionally healthy, but was afraid because i didn't really know how tight a grip the mind control had on her, and didn't know if she would feel obligated to back off in our friendship any.
i was deeply afraid of that, because we're as close, if not closer than, sisters.. to my pleasant surprise, she not only totally accepted my feelings, but she already knew what i was going to say before i said it.

I just wanted to say congratulations on your newfound freedom. I know its tough as many of us are going through similar situations. We are here to offer our support. I think its wonderful that you have such a wonderful husband like dan and you two can support each other and be true to yourselves and each other. Savage and I hope we can see you two in March.

nevertheless the radio is here, and nothing can prevent the truth from going out by that means and penetrating where otherwise it could never reach..
in what manner could this witness work be done except by means of the radio and by a publication of books containing the message of the truth?

i was reading in the religion page of the newspaper today that the mormons are enjoying romance novels in which descriptions of the characters' sex lives are limited to little more the first kiss--- that could happen after they are engaged to be married........any ideas of what a jw romance novel might be like?
