i'm starting this because i was chatting with someone this morning about pictures of ourselves as kids.
i realized i didn't have any of myself so i got my mother to email me a few.
i promised i'd start a thread about it and if that person doesn't post the pic they sent me this morning, i will.

one of the strangest things that i've seen with the "sheep" is how they would not do anything unless they heard from their elders.
especially was this so, during inclement weather.
if we were in the middle of a blizzard, we could not call off the meeting unless we heard it was confirmed by the presiding overseer, usually after he "discussed" it with some elders.
I remember one time in particular we had a terrible winter here in seattle and my mom drove us to the tuesday night meeting. You couldnt get to the KH without going up or down this big hill. Sure enough the car started sliding sideways... she made all four of us girls get out the car and we slid on our bookbags down the hill! hehe... unfortunately my mom was still stuck so we went in the KH and told the elders, one of them got in the car and tried to help drive the car. The car slid right into a traffic circle! Needless to say mom refuses to drive in the snow from now on and will even stay home from the meeting if its snowing, whether the meeting is cancelled or not.

my brother turned 21 on september 24th, a month later the doctor told him that his leukimia had returned and he had a 10% chance of surviving.
ten days before he died he spent four days at my house.
he had already made up his mind that he wasnt going to take blood.
(((((Ray))))) ((((Chim Chim))))) ((((Dede)))) and everyone thank you so much.
My darling husband thank you I love you so much.
I talk to my mom yesterday and she decided to have the memorial service at the funeral home instead of the KH (whew). I had offered to have everyone come to our house afterwards so my mom wouldnt have to worry about getting her home ready or renting a place.
So now i have hundred dubs coming to my house on Saturday.... i guess i'll have to hide my apostate books and such. and i guess have to wait another week to put up xmas decorations.
my husband is so funny, yesterday he cracked me up when he said " so is this your way of trying to convert me by inviting 100 dubs to our home??" LOL! he was joking of course.
Also, when i talked with my mom on the phone last night, she mentioned how my nephew had said my brother would be ressurected and we would see him again in paradise and "oh wasnt that sweet of him to say that?" I mumbled "uh" and she was like "well dont you believe that?" I just mumbled "i guess im just sad right now" i cant really tell her the truth about the trooof yet, she's a hard core dub zealot and i dont want to stir anything up just now i dont really think its the time. Then she was like "well the end is very close, you know the other day Bush was talking about peace and security!"
She said it with such conviction, i just said oh really? and she want on for a bit more about how close we are to the big A... i didnt really say a whole lot in response. Actually, I just wanted to laugh...
I'll let y'all know how this week and saturday go if your interested... so
more to come
