The WTBTS has shown remarkable resilience over time. It won't fade out anytime soon as many here would like to see. The will to believe is the essence of human religious yearning. That doesn't change, although the various items that make up JW minor doctrine and prophecy will.

Jehovah's Witness break off group?
by freedom96 inthere have been many discussions on this board about the hope that we all have that the wts organization would tumble.. some have thought that the internet will play a big role ( i think so), others think that it is abuse issues, others still think it might be doctrinal issues.. if the wts was to take a fall, would there be a break off group in your opinion?
would there be the die-hard witnesses that would start a division, take over perhaps?
would some governing body members go one way, and others go another way?

Could you ever go back ??? What would the elders ask/make you do ???
by run dont walk innot meant to give anyone nightmares !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
i'm sure we will all answer no, but for the fun of it, what would have to happen for you to return to the kingdom hall,.
and what would the elders/judicial committee say to you if you wanted to go back.. do you think even if you returned with a new attitude, that you would always be "marked" by the congregation.. should get some interesting answers !!!!!!!!!

"Young People Ask- How Can I Make Real Friends" Video
by Nosferatu inhave any of you watched this piece of shit?
a little while ago, i saw it in my mom's video collection, and i popped it in just to see what it said.
it was incredibly sad to see so many brainwashed youths.. the real life drama at the end was the worst perception of "the world" that i've ever seen.

Guess I'm odd man out on this one, it seemed like an alright vid to me. I do remember the "Heritage" movie from the 60's, Room 215. A true classic, that!

The New Kids Book Release; Letter Ideas.
by shamus ini think that it would be a good idea to give a copy of that picture of armageddon to any letters that you send to any politicians, legal court cases, whatever the case may be.. the picture is absolutley disgusting, and shows blatant mind control.
a copy of that in with a letter to any politician would wake them the hell up as to what kind of cult this is!
maybe a follow-up letter with the picture enclosed?

While you are at it, maybe you could suggest outlawing the Bible as a form of mind control. Where else did the concept of Armageddon come from? Maybe Dateline will have a segment on the Bible planned soon.

Something I was never told about JW's.....
by Algun Otro in.... those meetings are soooooooo boring.
and don't get me started on the 3 days of hell i just spent at the district convention.
(actually, if there isn't really a "hell", then it was 3 days of "non-existence") ok, ok, i get it.... as a witness, i should "give god glory", and make sure everything i do is being done in the glory of god.... but i don't need 3 days to get that point across.

Algun Otro,
Although I had no choice in the matter, having "grown up" in the JWs, you would be wise to reverse course and exit at the highest rate of speed your legs can muster. Trust me, in 5, 10, 25, 50 years you will thank me. Think of how you could use all that "boring" time to good purpose!

The Silliness of "Neutrality' and "Pagan Customs"
by metatron inthe watchtower engages in commerce, sells stock thru brokerages, trains or retains lawyers, uses 'blame the victim'.
tactics in court, protests to various governments, seeks tax exemptions, holds millions of dollars in banks and .
constantly fends off lawsuits in legal actions.. yet, somehow they are "no part of the world" ??????.

Excellent observations, Metatron. Because the organization has a bad case of "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain," it continues to hide its true nature to the friends. Fortunately, sites like this one are helping those of us that are starting to wake up. Thanks to all for your efforts in this direction.

As a loyal JW, what made you to start doubting the Watchtower ???
by run dont walk ini'm sure all of us were loyal at one time to the watchtower, believing in all of it.
(some of us probaly hated it from day one as well but, ).
what were some of the first things that happened or were said, that made you to start doubting it and beginning the loss of your loyalty to the organization ??????.

Strangely enough, initially it had nothing to do with doctrine. It was just that doing everything that you are supposed to do made (and still makes) me absolutely miserable. It was (and still is) always "hurry, hurry there," and "you must do more here." That and the total lack of a sense of well-being. If religion or belief system can't provide that, what ultimate good is it?
