  Congregation members too old or too young for you?

  were there enough people in your age/group or did you have to hang around with much older or much younger than you?

  i had that problem in my congregation... a few were my age, but they were married, so we weren't often together.. did you feel isolated in your congregation because of age difference or because you were single?.

  Hoooly crap!

  If they weren't too stupid, two-faced, weird, or crazy, then they were too old. In fact, some of the elderly were very nice, although some were just as nuts as the others....... I hung with "bad people" from all kinds of congregations, and partied. (like got drunk/wasted all the time). I never got into trouble, b/c I would leave if things got too crazy. Had quite a few close calls, but nothing.

  I only hung around with that crowd b/c nobody else would really hang out with me, or they were in the four categories mentioned earlier.

  one of the things i longed to do as a teen was attend a prom.

  i dreamed of one of my jw "crushes" asking me, but it never happened.

  but, i did have an old school acquaintance ask me in senior high.

  england and wales court of appeal (criminal division) decisions am, r v. [1999] ewca crim 803 (23rd march, 1999)

  his honour judge colston qc: at the crown court at teesside on 27th july 1998 this appellant pleaded guilty to an indecent assault on a woman on 21st january 1998. on 21st august 1998 he appeared again before the same judge and was sentenced as follows.

  for the indecent assault, three years' imprisonment.

  in turbulent times dominated by fear and insecurity,those who attend the 200 upcoming three and four day programs of bible education in some 62 cities across the united states can expect to be spiritually refreshed and rejuvenated.. jw's 2003 d.c.will carry the theme"give god glory".. does anyone know why there are three days and then four days in different cities?will they cram four days of spiritually refreshing and rejuvenating programs of bible education into three days in some cities and then stretch it into four days in some other cities?.

  No, I have a better idea.

  The CRAPPY FOOD that they say that we should buy (ooooh - those satanists that go out and eat at a local restaurant for lunch.... OOOH! ) brings in too much money. They want the cash$$$$$$$.

  Anyone remember that horrible food? I hated it - we always went out for lunch.

  How Much Have You Changed As Far As Concepts?

  most of us were still floundering as we faded away, were disassociated or disfellowshipped.

  we were no doubt quite unhappy, unsettled, and felt like we "belonged nowhere".. when i first got out, i was so hurt to the core to realize that the "truth" was a lie, and i was so disillusioned about myself and my belief structure, that i couldn't even take my bible and open it and read without falling apart in tears.

  gradually, as i struggled to heal myself, and learned to love and trust myself and others, i began thinking again about where i was in life, and what i really wanted to get out of this life, and what the future might hold.

  For me - concepts ..... well, I just can't believe that ONE SET OF RELIGIOS persons have any right to be in their "spiritual paradise". Indeed, we all know that it is not paradise - it is hell. It is criticism, constant sadness, and loneliness. There are so many people out there that have good hearts, and have done a hell of a lot more than I could ever do, regardless of what religion I belong to.

  I went back to school, got my grade 12, with honors, and am planning on taking some career training. That's all thats news with me -some of your stories are excellent!

  The district conventions were very tiring. We only looked at the girlies and hung out - I remember making many trips to the store, just because I did not want to fall asleep!

  The worst were the dramas.... UUUUGH! When I first went into the truth, everyone was like "OOOOH THE DRAMAS!!! THEY'RE SOOOO GOOOD!!! COME FOR THE DRAMAS!!!" They were absolutley HORRIBLE! Same every year - some young kid talkin' about a modern day problem, let's go back in time, bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla.

  Hiya!

  Your topic about how the witnesses treated you really triggered my bad memories, and made me remember how awful people can be in the "truth". It was something that needs to be said, the emotional abuse. Of course I will try to help out your hubby. I am very, very bad a scriptures, etc., though, so bear with me.

  What is the history of this forum?

  just wondering how long this forum has been around, and if there is a web page or something like that for it.

  the only reason that i ask is because it has been years since i left the org.

  and have never heard of anything like this, and wonder how word can get out to people so that they do not have to deal with the horrible feelings alone.
