You're right on it. I also think that the only mesurement of salvation should be the faith and only the faith. That's the only thing that makes you really work for God, like contributing to humanitarian help (other than just "religious"), saving a life (not the eternal, as only Jesus/God can save it), or studying His word in its historical context (like understanding the word they used in the Bible that they understood at the times of the writers, and not trying to interpret those words (like Babylon the Great, an expression we should interpret in the context of the apostle John) as if they were said in our time.). The work a JW have to do is beyond what is asked in the Bible, and the gospel they preach is very far from the original.

Well, go on, because it does not. You just repeat dates like a robot. 1881, 1914, 1918, etc... The brothers were not predicting, but trying to understand Bible chronology and prophesy. They were not telling the reader what to believe, but to come to their own conclusions on the scriptures.Again, you'r wrong. They could have DFd someone just to critisize those "new lights". On sites made by ex-JWs (and don't say they're apostates, some have been there longer than you, and sometime on priviligiated positions), we have access to archived WTs, Awake, and other WT publications that say otherwise. Go and see for yourself (I'm not here to direct you on a particular web site just type "jehovah" in your search engine and go explore).

A more precise definition of Borg: some make the comparison of the WT as to the Borg, a Star Trek The Second Generation specie. That specie, if you watch Star Strek, is one made of human combined with technology, as cyBorgs. The Borg is a collective in which all the members are going along for the same purpose: assimilate the other species of the Universe. When one becomes a member of the Borg collective, his culture, realizations, and all his individuality are assimilated into the collective. In Borg, individual thinking is irrelevant, death is irrelevant, personnality is irrelevant, resistance is irrelevant, just like the WT organization. So it is why some of the people that post on this board refer to the Borg collective in Star Trek when speaking about the WTBTS. And that is relevant !!

You should read all the post, YouKnow. You are missing something much valuable. You could see that the WT own teachings can be used against them, like being broke down by their own weapons. By their own teachings, they betray themselve. We don't even need the scripture to do that. Their teachings, as it has been proved, don't go along a deep study of the Biblical context, historical context, the terms used in the Bible according to the context of the Biblical times, and so on. The Bible goes along with historical context, the terms used in it goes along with the understanding of the people of the 1st century, but the WT teachings try to reinterpret the Bible as if it were written only for our time. So they reinterpret how terms should be employed, how we should worship God, what is the gospel to be preached (they have pretty gone very far from the original Gospel, from which was at the 1st century the death and resurection of Christ and the faith into His sacrifice, to the one they preach today that is the coming of the Kingdom of God and the destruction of the world we live in.), in short they claim to be the only true faith, the only true organization, the only "discreet and faithfull servant" appointed by God, and they have claimed so much (and still doing it) that they speak by God's mouth. Every intelligent person who have took the time to study carefully about the JWs knows that they are a false prophet by their own teachings, according to scriptures, and history and archeologic researches. The very faithfull Christians would recognize those who are false teachers or prophets. The true Christians have found the WT and all the other sectarians cults to be guilty of being false prophets. That have been demonstrated long enough that it needs no further comments. The WTBTS GB's a false prophet, by all means. Period.

Joelbear, I think we already have the answer:
Changing the meaning of the 1914 generation!! LOL
In doing so, the WT retired itself from their responsibility of the almost 1 century long false teaching of the 1914 generation, which said that the ones who were aware of the events that happened since 1914 would be alive when Armagedon arrives. So in 1995, they have subtily change that teaching, replacing the 1914 generation by "it will come very soon" or something like that. Their teaching of the 1914 generation has come to its end because the people of that generation are almost all dead now, shortening the time before Armagedon. So to cover that false teaching, they had to do something. But in doing so they deceived more JWs. And they have come with something that really shows their inconsistencies about their Bible misinterpretations.
