For those who are annoyed by the little paper clip in Microsoft Word:
*begin jaws music*.
yesterday i got visited by the dubs!
" then he said, only jehovah can judge the heart etc., you know, the usual inconsequential drivel all witnesses must spout when faced with this very important question, so i said, "so all those people are going to die then?".
Syn, great experience! It made me laugh....
Unfortunately there is no way we'd ever be called on at this point. Everyone in the area knows us. Unless we move we will probably never be visited by the JWs.
.
my husband will outlive me to 77!!.

I'm going to live FOREVER!
did you consider yourself a real student of the bible, one who regularly read the scriptures, with a view to helping others learn the "truth" of god's word?
I thought I was pretty good with the Bible, but that was false pride. The WTS kept telling dubs how educated they are about the bible compared to everyone else.
All I was good at was repeating WTS doctrine.
By JW standards though I had very poor study habits. I rarely studied for meetings because I found it so utterly boring. I hated hearing the same things over and over again. My wife though studied like crazy... easily 10 or 15 hours per week.
the bible states mankind was made by god from plain old dirt.
science however, has shown that we are in the nieghborhood of 98% monkey (chimpanzee).
was god lazy, in that he didn't start from scratch in making people, but used animal parts to assemble the human body?
I am not talking about in a room in a lab. I will have to let the subject go and you can venture a guess to what I really mean and what I am not allowed to say....
"Not allowed to say"? From what I've seen, there are no limits to what can be said on these forums.
The truth is stranger than any science fiction we have read.................
I'm going to start calling you Fox Mulder.
yes, the mormons have their ex-sites too.
one difference i note is that the lds church doesn't tell its members to avoid "apostate" sites, as does the w.t.
one church spokesperson stated: "beyond urging members to use wisdom and judgment in their use of the internet or any other medium of communication, we have made no comment on specific web sites.".
So basically Mormons are not nearly as strict as JWs in that regard, huh? JWs are brainwashed to fear anything worldly, antiJW, etc.

Are you certain? I had heard that the LDS church "encourages" its members to only read information approved of by the church. It discourages reading anti-LDS stuff.

Mr Kim, I was mostly joking, but I enjoyed your answers nonetheless! The question about 'making god out of nothing' was particularly asinine.
My main point was that just because man cannot reproduce something in the lab doesn't make the theory invalid. Man only has a theory about how black holes form. (A very good theory.) We have never seen a collapsed star turn into a black hole before our eyes, and we certainly couldn't reproduce the birth of a star or black hole in a lab.
