  Those who are hasty to reveal such matters often do not have all the facts.

  Maybe they don't have all the facts, but they certainly have more facts than the society wants known.

  That "slave" has the responsibility to cover their asses determine what information is made available to the household of faith, as well as "the proper time" for it to be dispensed.

  Yes, it's all about controlling information.

  6 Internet Web Sites: We have an official Internet Web site: www.watchtower.org. This site is adequate to make information available to the public. There is no need for any individual, committee, or congregation to prepare a Web page about Jehovah?s Witnesses. Some have posted the contents of our publications with all scriptures and references given in full and have even offered copies of convention material on a donation basis. Whether profit is involved or not, the practice of reproducing and distributing publications of Jehovah?s Witnesses in an electronic document is a violation of copyright laws. While some may view this as a service to the brothers, it is not approved and should be discontinued.

  Since the preaching work? is the "most important work going on in this time of the end?" you would think they would encourage the distribution of their publications. This is "life saving spiritual food?", right? They're not concerned about profits, are they? Shouldn't they be more concerned with avoiding becoming bloodguilty? in Jehovah's eyes?

  i've stumbled upon this site, while reading many articles after giving up trying to find out what time the memorial is.

  though after reading allot over the last little while.

  i am not too concerned about the memorial either anymore.

  New DF/DA Policy?

  would someone who has the new od book explain any changes in "keeping the congregation clean"?

  is it still the same policy or have they actually changed anything?

  i'd especially like to know if they are changing their tune on the "inactive".

  But couldn't they have simply sent a BOE letter instead of spending a few hundred thousand on book printing?

  The rank & file JWs get restless quickly, but they're easily excited whenever there's new food from Jehover in the form of a new release. It's not really new food, just the same regurgitated tripe, but they don't know that.

  Information Versus Misinformation

  i think we must be careful in assuming that anything is "new" or "changed" regarding policies of the society or for that matter regarding anything that we assert is absolutely true, unless we have some facts to back it up.

  why give misinformation and post it as fact?

  i think that we should be cautious in this regard.

  Really, when was the last time the society came out with something "new"? Any changes I've seen them make were more like damage control rather than something "new".

  I doubt the society ever had an original thought that they didn't borrow from someone else and distort.

  maybe they just don't wnat the congregation to know if a person is out by choice or force.

  I think that's what it is. More people are leaving by choice now, and I don't think the society wants their members to know that. It causes people to think, and that's something the society doesn't want.

  although i don't go to meetings anymore, i usually go to the memorial.

  but this year, i couldn't go even if i wanted to..... my jw clothes don't fit me anymore.... i certainly won't spend 200$ just to go to one meeting.....

  They claim they are Gods only channel. They claim the organization is "spirit directed". But they claim they're not inspired.

  If the WT were to "reform" would you stay or go back?

  this thought has sprung from recent threads and speculation over the new book.

  i know many who post here are still active jw's or ones who were df'd, but may have not totally left the belief system.

  many have trouble with the methods and policies of the wt concerning dfing, restrictions, blood, local elders etc.

  1914 was gone.

  Without 1914 and 1919 their reason to exist is gone.

  But no matter what they might reform, I would never willingly associate with them. Organization aside, even the individual JWs are the most abusive people I've ever met.

  They don't tell you that if you are ever summoned to one of their kangaroo courts they won't allow you to record the proceedings or bring someone to witness it.

  They won't tell you that, over time, you will be taught to despise your "worldly" family because they'll be dead meat at armageddon anyway, so you shouldn't be close to them.

  They don't tell you that the governing body can, in the form of new light?, change your beliefs without notice, and you must accept the new light? immediately or be df'd.
