How do you know what Jesus' opinion would be on the subject?
Just because the bible says something happened does not mean it is approved by Jesus. If that were the case the society could justify any act, such as rape, child abuse, murder, incest, and theft.

i work for a rather large financial institution in nyc.
i run a large profit center and manage over 100 people.
on of my best workers is a dub doing a slow but progressive fade.
Although I feel sorry for the fader, I now have something I can openly address. Since she made these comments openly I will formally reprimand the dub and warn her that any other comments about his personal life and her religious convictions and its effect on her work product will not be tolorated.Refusal to comply will result in further disciplanary actions.
The workplace is not the place for people to trample other peoples' constitutional rights or persecute them for any reason. She's lucky to get off with a reprimand. If she was working here she would have been escorted out of the building within an hour of opening her mouth.

i've heard this said by a few ex-witnesses in my three years away from the organization, and have sometimes said it myself.

could it not be that one of the reasons ex-jws "can't stop thinking about" the organization -- and their past involvement with it -- is that they daily log onto this site, read about the society and talk about them?

I've been thinking the same thing lately. When I was a JW I spent, at most, 10 hours a week doing the JW thing. Now that I'm not one I spend at least 3 times that many hours bitching about it. Why is it that, now that I'm out, I'm giving them more of my time than I did when I was in?
How can the wound heal if I'm constantly picking at the scab?

ok, so i allways thought that dating someone who used to be a witless would be cool , since you would both kinda know what the other had been through in his/her life.
so my question is: how many of you date/have dated ex-witnesses, why or why not and does the relationship benifit from it...and just your ideas about it in general.. .
If I were to date again I don't think I would date an ex-jw. It's good to find someone with whom you share things in common, but if the things you have in common are primarily negative, like the JW thing, you risk entering into a lifelong bitchfest. I don't want to spend more time complaining about the watchtower than I actually spent in it. I've already given them far more than they deserve.
