You can find malcontents everywhere, not just among JWs or EX-JWs. With some people, it's a personality trait. With others, constant bitching can be a learned habit. The WTS is very critical of other religions, governments, business, education, etc. Maybe many of us learned the behaviour from them, and now that we're "out" we direct it towards them.

In my case, it would be unfair to blame all of my problems on the watchtower. First of all, I wasn't raised in it. Also, I must accept responsibility for my own actions, or inaction.

But overall, life is pretty good.

hey all, i have been doing a lot of research on my own now that i'm no longer in contact with my mother.

i can't believe how much she is still in the 'truth' even though she left 10 years ago.

everything that she has been "learning" over the last 10 years after our departure really isn't any different than it was when we were still in.

I don't love "unconditionally". If someone treats me like crap I won't waste my time or emotion on them. I did that for too long, to my detriment.

I used to have unconditional love for cognac, but now I prefer scotch. Things change.

DF'd/DA'd, Death, Resurrection --- Future new light?

years ago when i first started to question the organization and i knew at some point in time that i would eventually da myself or be df'd for some reason, i always wondered if my family would, in time, accept me once again after shunning me.

the 1995 generation thread brought this back up in my mind and i was interested to know if anyone else used this same line of thinking.. for the sake of those who still have jw relatives, let's put on their thinking caps for a minute.

jw's understand that just about everyone that has ever lived upon the face of the earth and have died, will be resurrected.

I feel that we will see new light on DF'd and DA'd ones stating that those who are categorized as such will not be eligible for a resurrection.

I'm sure they already have this opinion - I did when I was still one of them. I'm not sure if the society ever put such a thing in print though.

i have been on this board for around four years.

at first i took what went on here quite seriously, well for about three weeks, but it then became quite obvious to me that the depth of role-playing that went on on these boards was so deep-rooted that it would be a foolish waste of time to do anything more than to read some of the more informative threads and delegate the rest to entertainment.

i hope narkissos forgives me for quoting something that he wrote yesterday, but his thought clearly encapuslates the reason why it is foolish to presume that you know, or will ever know the person who is posting by what they write, and why judgments on a persons character are more than often fatally flawed.

Ok, I guess it's time for me to come clean. All this time I've been pretending to be a middle aged fat guy who's always half drunk, farts a lot, and rarely bathes. That's not the real me. In real life I'm young and muscular, the sort of man that women drool over.
