It's not only a question of the quantity of the time spent out preaching, but also the quality. A couple of Mormons came to my door once, and they wanted to talk. They didn't just try to leave magazines with me. Of course, I was still a JW and didn't want to talk to them, mostly because there was a hockey game on and Toronto was winning.
As long as I was going out in "service" neither I or anyone I worked with really tried to have a conversation with anyone. We just wanted to "place" magazines and get our asses to the donut shop as quickly as possible. We had no interest whatsoever in the people we were preaching to.
