  Who left the JW's after getting on the internet?

  how many here still believed the "witnesses" to have the truth until they came to sites like this?

  how many actually came here to defend the jw's and ended up leaving?

  I have a question for those who said it was the WTS stance on child abuse policies that caused them doubts. If it wasn't the internet that you learned about it.........where did you learn it from?

  It was the child abuse problem that caused my greatest doubts. I learned about it from my ex, who was a victim of such abuse, but I didn't know the scope of it until I learned about another abuse case on the news when there was a court case in Toronto. When I saw the Fifth Estate program about child abuse among JWs I became enraged, and that's when I started researching everything about the watchtower.

  For several years I thought there was something that wasn't right about the WTS, but I was still a believer when I first started reading "apostate" web sites. The sites confirmed my suspicions and showed me a lot about the society I didn't know.

  And they showed me how Jehovah's Witnesses can be refuted both from the bible and from the Watchtower's own publications.

  I was keeping in mind the counsel an elder once gave me when I was new in the troof when I scheduled only 1 hour a week for rendering the marital due. He told me a man must ration the amount of sex he gives his wife, otherwise she might turn into an animal!!!

  Stop being so annoying !!

  it doesnt happen here so much but on other forums some have really annoying attachments.

  why do you need to put a really stupid saying or comment after every post or (picture).

  i find it really cringworthy and i get sick of trying to dicipher where the message ends and the inane comment start.

  Being grumpy is a good thing.

  I agree about the signatures. Some threads have more signatures and graphics than discussion. It increases your scrolling time.

  Nope. I'm pretending to be an elder, encouraging others to do it but not doing it myself.

  Besides, they'd probably turn me down. Last time I didn't make my hours, probably because I didn't have kids to yell at.

  Do Jehovah's Witnesses Have The Reputation THEY Think They Have?

  witnesses believe they are special.

  the publications give many examples of how wonderful a witness was viewed upon by a "worldly" person.

  kms tell of how so many praise the witnesses for being so "different".....what would you say is the real way people view jws??

  Most people barely recognize the existance of Jehovah's Witnesses. If you mention them to someone the answer is often, "Jehovah's who???"

  Most people who know anything about them realize they're a destructive cult.

  Did you know of any JWs fighting in the Kingdom Hall or arguing in the KH?

  this might sound funny but i have heard many stories of jw's fighting in the kh bathroom or arguing.

  i remember an elder's wife who was having alot of medical problems cursed out another sister in the bathroom.

  she called her everything but the kitchen sink i was told by another sister that was in the bathroom when this altercation took place.

  Damn, all my congregations were boring. If there were some fights then maybe the meetings would have been worth going to. All but one of the elders I knew were bloody cowards. The only one who was a man is no longer a JW, and he posts on this board.

  I had arguments with elders several times in front of the congregation. They'd inevitably end up shouting at me while I'd remain calm. A couple of times I invited them to come outside with me so I could help them learn their place, but they weren't biting.

  They are female because:

  1. They are expensive.
  2. They don't turn on as fast as I'd like them to.
  3. They nag me all day long.
  4. They always want more peripherals to get a job done.
  5. Their errors are often incomprehensible.
  6. They spy on my online activities.
  7. They can't do anything without explicit instructions.
  8. They remember every mistake I make.
