  a young, progressive, kind elder wants to have a chat with me on sunday after the meeting.

  we've talked before and been quite open about the judgemental attitudes 'we' have as witnesses, and he was completely in agreement, stating that he's never understood the beard thing among other issues, and wants to see the society moving forward by change..

  i've no doubt he just wants to encourage me to up my hours or reach out again, but it's nerve wracking, as i know i'll say something i'll regret.

  today's watchtower lesson touched on the history of hezekiah's reign, and then made a surprising modern-day application.

  having used my time before the meeting to research the underlying material instead of highlighting my magazine, i personally found this to be an upsetting study, and decided to put this warning here in the hopes that some active witnesses read it.. the most important thing i want to say to you is that the actual flow of events in this bible account were severely misrepresented, and that there are some disturbing implications in the distortions that were made.

  1. hezekiah's father ahaz makes himself a vassal to assyria out of fear of their overwhelming might (2 kings 16:7, 8).. 2. upon becoming king, hezekiah rebels against assyria (2 kings 18:7).

  this is insane....so now immanuel is Isaiahs kid and not Jesus?

  In the public talk today it was give. The 5 things we need to be purposeful for J:

  1. Come to know him or an accurate knowledge

  2. Repent

  3. Turn from the world

  4. Go out in service as UB publisher

  5. Pray to God silently and then dedicate for publice declaration u are of his people.

  dont worry bout Jesus and all that lol we dont need him anymore! We have the FdS!

  at the meeting last night i was approached by an elder and he asked me what my schedule was like for the next week or so.

  i told him im not sure ill have to tet back with him and i asked why and he said kindly but in an odd sort of way "for a visit".

  my wife and i have not gone out in field service and have been missing meeting left and right mostly due to sickness and family.

  Well todays the day...im going to ask about why the elder wants to meet aith me, just him or two? My wife and i or just me? What is this about? If this is simply to encourage us then ill just tell him we are great and we just had famiky issues and were sick And ill let him know if we need anything.

  I wonder--if i do ask a question, just one, it woukd be this:

  "Elder, why do we call people worldly? Isnt that an offensive term, like calling someone petty, cheap, stupid?"

  Now if he asks why i can just say

  "I find that this term offends me quite a bit. All of my family are not Witnesses and when i hear this term, especially in a derogatory way, it offends me and i am deeply discouraged by it."

  just fell off my chair whilst listening to the bible "highlights".

  someone has actually just said that the flood account actually helps inform scientists on matters that perplex them.

  for example for decades they have wondered how the dinosaurs all disappeared but if they looked at the account of the flood then they would see the answer.
