Titus chapter 3

Heres what I found interesting. The Saviour is interchanged between God and Jesus and in Titus 2:13 this saviour is joined to both God and Christ.
this, to me, shows that if you believe God and Christ are of the same divine essence, or a trinity maybe, or even if you believe they are seperate beings or what have you, they are both our saviour....either way they are equal in this.
John 5:18 This is why the Jews began seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath but he was also calling God his own Father, making himself equal to God.

how was bible truth rediscovered?.
it goes in to the section and explains that false teachers were foretold to arise after jesus died (and the apostles died according to one conment).

How was Bible Truth Rediscovered?
It goes in to the section and explains that false teachers were foretold to arise after Jesus died (and the apostles died according to one conment). Those teachers mixed teachings of Christ with false religious ones. How can we be sure that today we have the correct understanding?
scriptures cited are Acts 20:29,30 and 2 tim 4:3,4. good so far? Pretty straightforward.
But then....
The Time came for Jehovah to reveal the truth.
In 1874 (riiiiiiight) a small group of truth seekers fulfilled the beginning of Dan 12:4 about true knowledge becoming abundant in the last days. They exposed things that were unscriptural like trinity (even though Bible students still wordhipped Jesus till after 1914), hellfire, etc. and Jehovah blessed them with spiritual insight!!!! (And the ability to false prophesy, apparently).
Sincere men carefulky studied the Bible.
the meat of this one is that when these students arrived at a conclusion the harmonized with the scriptures they wrote it down and let the BIBLE INTERPRET ITSELF (emphasis and paraphrasing mine).
the question here is "then why did they have to keep changing doctrine and new light to old if the Bible interpreted itself for these chosen ones with spiritua insight?"

Section 4 is more on why they needed to have the NWT "their own bible". Nothing new here except that a comment was made, quite angrily i might add, when a sister said "how dare they take out Gods personal name!" And she went on about how wring it is to change the Bible. Of course im the only one in the room whos eyes went wide. Absolute hypocrisy at its best.
That was some quick info in the BS i sat through.

jws have altered more scripture to suit their beliefs than most...it left an angry pit in my stomach.

JWs have altered more scripture to suit their beliefs than most...it left an angry pit in my stomach. more to come on the brochure tomorrow.

When does WT have time to praise God?
by DS211 inive increasingly noticed the amount of time devoted to trying to convince others why wt and jws are the "truth" and how christ appointed them instead of just praise and worship to god.
even the songs that are sung at meetings--many of them talk about listenng obeying and being blessed, and how god gave us gifts in men, etc.
and have reached even the thoughts and speech patterns of those who add "and his earthly organization" at the end of their sentences.

Spring hill fl JW kid is forced to pledge allegiance tothe flag

there was a little jw kid whose teacher made him stand up and salute the flag and/or say the pledge in class.
he went to the administrator and she got suspended.....my lord the jws are going to be shouting great trib over this.

Congratulations unstopable--for "family worship" i dont do it formally. I told my wife we would read a few chapters from the bible each day and that i felt Jesus was a huge focus for our kids...for whatever reason she agreed. so i focus on him and the heavenly hope with them. And i just keep it simple and give them advice any good parent woukd. Love your family no matter what, never stop helping them, share, be kind to everyone not just JW friends, etc. my wife agrees that our kids need to particupate in sports and get an education and im trying to keep her mind fixed on that. But i wish you the best with your family! I know its tough with a wufe whos indoctrinated...just time and patience will help.

Ive increasingly noticed the amount of time devoted to trying to convince others why WT and Jws are the "truth" and how Christ appointed THEM instead of just praise and worship to God. Think about it!! Even the songs that are sung at meetings--many of them talk about listenng obeying and being blessed, and how God gave us gifts in men, etc. and have reached even the thoughts and speech patterns of those who add "and his earthly organization" at the end of their sentences. Once you wake up and pay attention you can see how often the holy spirit and christ are pushed aside to give way to God and his organization. I leave with a headache every meeting.
