1. Whens the last time you heard someone say "Man i got Ra such a sweet carbed for Saturnalia! Its egyptian cotton, light...oh and look here its flame retardant!!!"---chances are you havent and nor do i do that.

2. Jesus was not born on Dec 25 so i am in fact not celebrating his birthday.

3. Promotes greed. Again this is a conscience matter. Does it instill greed in you? Dont celebrate it or dont buy gifts! Just enjoy family time with your worldly :-) fam and friends, have a pint, and listen to music.

and if all else fails use the term thats becoming verry popular here as well as in my head "Christmas Fractions"

Question for apostates!

i have a question.. the conventional wisdom seems to be that to 'convert' a jehovah's witness (or get them to see ttatt) you have to ask questions that they cannot answer and engage with their true personality not their 'cult personality'.. intellectual arguments tend to fall flat because jws (who do not already have personal doubts) believe they already know the absolute truth so anything contrary to that truth is nessecarily wrong.

any criticism of their beliefs will be seen as an attack or persecution and will be dismissed as flawed 'human thinking' or 'apostate lies'.. to 'true believers' any amount of contrary evidence and illogical inconsistencies in their beliefs can be dismissed or explained away.

their starting point is that they have special knowledge of absolute truth and all evidence and arguments are then weighed against this preconceived belief.. here is my question.

Marked....i learned the truth by looking at websites...i many some situations come up that seemed to contradict the WT. Then i thought "why the hell wouldnt they let you research all sides unless they were hiding something?" The. I started and uncovered one thing after another and another....and here i am.

so i've been going to doctors for years with chronic fatigue, a condition i managed ok but which took a drastic nose dive in late 2011 to 2012 to the point where i could barely function.

work was part of the problem, so at the end of that year i left that stressful environment.

but in the meantime, for the last few years i've been going to doctors, specialists, psychiatrists and psychologists and undergoing every sort of blood test you can imagine and seeing all sorts of medical people.

I also have this problem...since i became a witness ive been so tired i can hardly have fun with my kids, on edge, irritable, etc. when i started to learn TTATT it got worse because i knew how tought it would be to get my family out. I still have the issue but strangely i do feel a little more awake..im sorry you have to to through this

tonight we watched home alone 2, last nghr we watched home alone...i hear the christmas music and i have started to....feel again.

its hard to describe this feeling...its overjoyed, peaceful, hopeful, at the beauty ive missed around this time.

and at the same time it kills me because my children dont know it...its just another day, no special time, no holidays...my daughter asked me the other night if she could have a birthday.

its hard to describe this feeling...its overjoyed, peaceful, hopeful, at the beauty ive missed around this time.

I understand why you would feel that way blondie. going through great suffering can teach you to appreciate the small and wonderful things. But if you had grown up without the abuse...if you had seen and felt what i feel, and you femt it your whole life and it was THEN taken away...i dont see it as abuse...but i do feel i am missing some extraordinary and wonderful moments with my kids. And i dont mean santa and all that. I just mean giving gifts and christmas lights and trees...to a child its awesome. My daughter stared at the tv as we watched home alone lol and when Rockefeller was shown with the tree lit up so did her eyes. Shes missing out. Hell even the Israelites had festivals right? Why dont the Wt celebrate hannukah? Jesus did didnt he? To me they take lives from others...that is abuse.

so im reading "why evokution is true" by coyne and the page im on is talking about darwin and natural selection:.

or if the creationist is asking questions this could really hit his faith hard And perhaps put a dent or crush many things that string together his/her perception of reality, hope, peace, salvatikn, etc

i know that prob didnt come out right but thats what i thought of when i read it.

What's With INVISIBLE ??

the 'dubs' came by today just as the wife and i were on the way out.

we chatted a few moments and the two guys wanted to know if i had any questions about the bible.

so i asked them to drop by in a day or two and they left me with two thin magazines and a book they jokingly referred to as "the gold nugget.".

when all else fails "oh, well hes invisible" ALWaYS does the trick. I once knocked something off a shelf and broke it...when my mom asked i told her someone else did it. She said "you were the only one in the room!" I said "hes invisible so you cant see him"....it didnt work and i got my ass spanked...
