Apostates commit the unforgivable sin and will NOT be resurrected.
by gumby ini posted this on another thread....but as usual, when i posted it, the thread died and so i thought i'd put it under a different subject as it's worth re-reading.. the society has always said nobody is the judge who commits the dreaded...."unforgivable sin", but they sure the hell do not having any trouble making a statement concerning apostates as commiting the unforgivable sin.. 1982 watchtower 4/1 p.26-28 .
" jesus told the unrepentant scribes and pharisees that they and their gentile proselytes were subjects for gehenna or, literally, sons of gehenna.
(matthew 23:15, 33-35; see also john 9:39-41; 15:22-24.

What about people who were disfellowshipped for apostacy because of a belief they had, but then new light came out to agree with the belief that they had? How can it be an unforgiveable sin to follow Jehovah just because 12 men in Brooklyn hasn't realised his intentions yet? Might be interesting to ask a jw about that.

What is it that makes posters leave?
by Es inwas just reading the topic "its time to say goodbye" and it makes me wonder what is it that makes people who have been here for a long time leave?
i couldnt imagine leaving this forum i love it and the people in it :) es

I think that some leave because they get annoyed when others seem to be dogmatic about their own opinions or some may leave because some of the posters have some residual elder power and shove their weight around, meaning of course their own opinions .
You can sense when someone is being obtuse and by that I mean they lack sensitivety towards others, and that can be so irrating and plainly not nice.
We are all equals here. For someone to act superior toward others is just plain rude and some don't like it because their feelings have been hurt. Its like they are acting out what we all have left behind when we left the organization.
And yes too, some leave because they want to move on with their lives.
Orangefatcat's opinion.
Kinda sums it for me. I'm not on here very much now, although occassionally I pop in and see whats happening. I'm going to post a thread soon(When I get time, lol) about whats new with me, and hopefully I'll see a few of you at apostafests!

I fail to see the problem with the law protecting witches..............
I this will turn out just lke the much hyped human rights act - very good in principle, but in practice doesn't make a difference to those who it was meant to protect and widely abused to the point it has become a laughing stock. At work we have to virtually jump through hoops so we don't infringe the human rights of the mass rapists, child molesters, and murderers we have locked up there.
And the fact they are considering using the parlimentary act to bring it in shows to me just how out of touch with the general public this government is. I might be wrong, but I think it has only been used once to force through a law in the 40s or 50s, except for this current government who seem to threaten to use it quite a bit.
I don't think this new law would be neccesary if the powers that be enforced the current laws, but thats the way they fix every problem - just make a new law.

A Moral Dillema... and ideas?
by Abaddon inokay, background info;.
my ex-wife is threatening to cut contact between me and my daughters (12 and almost 15).. she has done a great job of being the parent with the lions share of rasing them (especialy as she's become inactive) and has always resisted 'excessive' involvement as well as always being resentful and obstructive of contact with them, down to them not feeling comfortable to call me due to her reaction.
last year my x cut off contact for three month as she was 'under stress'... or more accurately, i'd asked to have them for a week in the summer holidays and she can't stand to see me have anything that makes me happy even if it spoils things for her daughters.... this year, in addition to repeating the request for holidays, i spoke to her about a few problems i'd found out about regarding my daughters.

I think its a lot more morally justifiable for you to threaten to report her to the elders than for her to threaten to cut you off from your children. If the children decided on their own for you not to have any influence in their lifes fair enough, but for their mother to make that decision for them when their old enough to decide for themselves is wrong. I would be very careful of how they would react to you reporting(or threatening to) her to the elders though.
I would keep a comprehensive diary of everything that happens. If you can show a pattern of instability you may have more rights than you think.

LIVING WITH A WITCH - A GUIDE FOR THE NON PAGAN PARTNER
by Gadget init?s a strange thing being brought up in a christian house with the matriarch being a religious zealot and then years later ending up living in a pagan house with an equally committed, and i use the word committed advisedly, religious woman running the household.. .
it all started so innocently as well.
it was after our relationship had started i was aware that she was a little different, not quite of the so called ?norm?
