And WHY should we care about those long-ago stories that are probably just a figment of some writer's fevered imagination? With the MULTITUDE of real-life things going on in the world RIGHT NOW, why do we need to spend time worrying about and dissecting what 'may' have happened in some long-ago cloud cuckoo-land? REALITY is MY religion!!

Misleading explanation for the fulfillment of the Prophecy against Tyre
by opusdei1972 inas we know, nebuchadnezzar could not conquer the island of tyre, so he could not fulfill what was predicted in ezekiel chapter 26. many years later, ezekiel admitted that the prediction failed in chapter 29:.
17 and it came to pass in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, that the word of the lord came to me, saying, 18 son of man, nebuchadnezzar king of babylon caused his army to labor strenuously against tyre; every head was made bald, and every shoulder rubbed raw; yet neither he nor his army received wages from tyre, for the labor which they expended on it.
19 therefore thus says the lord god: surely i will give the land of egypt to nebuchadnezzar king of babylon; he shall take away her wealth, carry off her spoil, and remove her pillage; and that will be the wages for his army.

How to Avoid the Faithless Spirit of most here-
by DocHouse in1- pray to god (whomever you may imagine him to be) asking for understanding.
2- study the background about the bible (from non-religious sources) to see where it came from.
3- discard (or at least set aside) chuyrch claims and dogma.. 4- read it, looking up archaeological/historical sources about the places and peoples referred to.

It's a good idea to be faithfully faithless.

Why won't I return to the Witnesses? When I was attending, I saw and heard enough cringe-worthy actions and statements to last a lifetime.

Persecution in Russia. Poland next.
by FadeToBlack inthe wife got back from the meeting last night and told me they watched some video from jw.org about persection in russia.
lots of discussion at the hall about poland being next after ukraine.
she told me she was not going to sign anything renouncing her faith even if she had to go to prison.

Tell your wife that the Watchtower doesn't have a good track record of correct predictions when it comes to world events. I highly doubt Russia would attempt to invade or destabilize Poland. Plus the average Witness is certainly no expert concerning international news. That film is just another example of the Organization inducing fear in order to keep the sheep under firm control. Ask your wife to name even ONE correct prediction they have made regarding world events.

Hearing about the speeches given by various GB members at this years conventions, I'll bet those talks were as exciting as watching grass grow. For men that are such so-called 'spiritual' leaders, their comments are usually the lamest and LEAST spiritual as can be imagined. Moronic jokes, sexist and homophobic ramblings, boring stories. Who can even stay halfway awake during that rubbish?? It's mostly aimed at the 75 I.Q. mental level. I would LOVE to see some quotes from those jackasses' speeches. Did anyone write them down??

Of course the JW teens are mortified to be seen knocking on doors. What if one of their non-JW schoolmates answered the door ??? Talk about the ultimate in humiliation. They'd feel like a first-rate fool the next day in school. Hopefully more and more teens will decide going door to door isn't worth the abject horror of being exposed as a JW at school. Everyone already knows that JW kids are strange and weird, right?

Any parent who shuns their own child deserves all the pain and heartache such cruel behavior brings to them. I personally don't care if they are brain-washed by the Organization. They are still adults who should know better than to reject their offspring because of some silly religion. I have zero sympathy.

A CIrcuit Overseer I met in San Diego years ago openly admitted that if he had children he would likely be charged with child abuse. He said it openly and proudly in front of me. I was a Study at the time, not even a full Witness. This was another thing that caused me to see behind the 'loving facade' of the Organization. I wish I could recall his name. What a pompous, sick bastard he was!! That's when I realized that Circuit Overseers were just glorified nobodies with zero real spirituality. Please tell your CO to piss off!!!! Then walk out for good!

Why did he even apply for that job to begin with? First he should have informed his future employer before he was hired about his limitations. Another example of a JW who wasn't honest about his intentions. Then they piss and moan to the court system to get sympathy. JWs disgust me!!
