these guys believe that they are running and directing "god's organization" and it is all based on some flimsy parable interpetation about a master who left a slave in charge while he went away with the outcome uncertain upon his return.

not a very solid case to be pointedly honest.

jesus would have made a better choice of donald trump to run his father's business/watchtower corporation, he's less arrogant and doesn't discourage higher education, and plastic children's toys are not a major concern of his.. what is arrogance?.

in case i didn't mention it...i was born into the disgusting cult of the watchtower(r).. i left when i was as old as 50 and went to a baptist church, then when i moved house to anglican and finally to a pentecostal church.. i now do not believe in 'god' of any variety.

i do not believe because i see no obvious evidence for a 'god' and only see what people have made of 'god' in their delusions.. ok. so, the question: 'what if you're wrong?'.

well, i might be wrong about a lot but if qi and mythbusters taught me anything it's not to be so gullible mcfly!

so the elder i studied with called round last wednesday.

i didn't tell him i'd lost my faith, i just said there are a number of reasons i wouldn't be able to return to either my studies or the meetings.

he asked me whar 2 or 3 of my reasons are so we could discuss them.. my reply: 1 i think all christians should partake of the bread and wine.

Just listen to whatever he has to say, then tell him you will think the matter over and you'll get back to him. Then of course just forget the whole thing.....why do you need to give him an accounting of your current understandings? Unless you just enjoy debating, let the matter drop. As an elder, he will just be spouting the party line anyway, so why bother??

i read article after article about the billions the gb rakes in from fleecing the sheep but i've never heard anyone explain what happens to the money.. i mean is it in a swiss account?

are the gb living in private mansions?

where does the $ go?.

That's a great question to ask still-in JWs. It will probably only register if they are already having doubts about the Organization. But worth a try.

Governing Body Running Scarred and 12-13-14 "Might Be the End"?

this went bad, i hit click before i could post my thoughts about the fear factor going through our crazy kingdom hall.

the title of this thread was aimed at asking why the governing body is becoming so afraid and demanding the elders and rank and file to put their trust in the dukes of the kingdom hall.

Maybe we should do all we can to promote the '12-13-2014' return date of Jesus Christ to any and all still-in JWs. Get them all salivating about The End coming late this year. Then, when Jesus DOESN'T return hopefully many JWs will become disillusioned with the Organization and leave. Anyway, just an idea.

they are simply more org-fed propaganda for the congregation, and if there happens to be some poor unsuspecting sucker in the audience - so be it!.

I've noticed this as well. During the 'special talk', to which the public is specifically invited, Bible verses mentioned have the members constantly flipping through their Bibles. Any unsuspecting public person without a Bible would feel TOTALLY left out and lost.

sure god could be capable of creating a body and implanting it with all of our life experiences an memories.

but how would not be a just a clone instead of being actually us?

according to a new "bible questions answered": " the wild beast with seven heads introduced at revelation 13:1 represents the worldwide political system.".

i know that they have quietly been backing away from the un identification for awhile.

is this feature on jw.org a new official teaching, or just a spin for the sake of the public?.

the society teaches that since around 1919 the anointed who have died and do die, are resurrected as spirit creatures.

the only one to be resurrected as a spirit that is documented in the bible is jesus.

when jesus was resurrected, did he appear to his disciples yet his body was still buried?

Such speculation is all total nonsense. Jesus is DEAD!!! Time to acknowledge that fact.....after all it's 2014, folks. Nobody is going to be 'resurrected', either.

why is the org acting worried?

the latest statistics from the year book seems to indicated that no great increase of leavers, so why is the org seem to be acting like thier worried?

more talks about apostates, more asking for money, more talks about loyalty, etc.

what's up?.

I highly doubt they are revealing the REAL statistics......obviously they are worried and thus are tightening up on asking for money, warning about apostates, etc. I think more of the average JWs are getting sick of it all....if not leaving they are at least losing interest.
