Great news!!! But just be careful not to trade one fairy-tale belief system for another one almost as outlandish. Magical thinking may be comfortable and reassuring, but just believing in something doesn't make it true in the real world. Jesus and God exist in the only place they can exist, in our imagination. But, best of luck on your spiritual journey. Keep us updated.

Leaving the JWs, experiencing Christianity and finding freedom! (But it took awhile)
by im_free inthis is my first post here.. i was raised in "the truth", and am an ex-bethelite who worked in brooklyn for several years back in the 90's.
a few years after i left bethel, i started to become disillusioned after doing research about the society and reading crisis of conscience (i know..i wasn't supposed to do that lol).
i eventually stopped attending meetings and going out in service.

Facebook Rumor is Bullshit, Here's Why! Coming From "MyApostateTrial".
by BucketShopBill inthe watchtower told the elders cosmo rose and dennis black and eric macgufus whoall appeared on those videos, they were going to use the "full weight of the watchtower to remove those videos and take eric botorff to court", ask eric botorff if he has been to court to have his videos removed.
same thing with chriswilting and brother wally belt(a causality of meeting with eric, she said wally was deleted for having coffee with eric), each elder and former elder told my sister "we are working on getting those apostate videos down asap!
" it's been years since those videos, do you think the watchtower has any clout, if they did those videos would be removed, it's all bunk!

is it possible to raise good kids with out religious morals?
by Princess Ashe inmaking up my mind on how to teach my son values in life seems to be an on going struggle of what is right and wrong.
being raised in a sheltered jw life until after leaving high school seems like going from one extreme to another of being over restrictive or under.
trying to find that balance.

JW Morals 101: If a family member doesn't believe the same way you do concerning religion, then shun them, or at least treat them as second-class people. JW Morals 102: If a JW makes a mistake or violates some 'rule', including asking inconvenient questions, kick them out of the religion. That's the way to show Christian love and forgiveness.

Spiritually strong people don't care what others think of them.
by hoser injesus is a good example of this.

I'm sure the members of the Governing Body would certainly characterize themselves as 'spiritually strong'. I completely disagree. They seem to me like the LEAST spiritual people I've come across. Listen to their talks.....filled with inane platitudes and bigoted personal opinions. I suspect the REAL spiritually strong folks would never go around bragging about it, or even give it a second thought. To most JWs, 'spiritually strong' means blindly obeying everything the Watchtower magazine prints, whether it makes sense or not.

"Jehovah's Witnesses do better after surgery without transfusion" - Article (July 3, 2012)
by Da.Furious inthis article from 2012 published by the birmingham news showed up on my facebook page.. what i would have liked to see in the statistics is the inclusion of total jws refusing blood transfusion and their survival rate not only the ones taht surviced, taking about only survivors is not like for like comparison in my opinion with patients who take blood transfusion and then dont survive.. .

The transfusion issue aside, why don't devout JWs all practice strict vegetarianism?? That way they would avoid 'eating blood' as is supposedly commanded by the Bible? I don't see many Witnesses....Elders and DOs especially....refusing to eat a nice roast or steak, both of which CONTAIN BLOOD, Witnesses make a big deal about following the Bible by 'not accepting blood' yet they eat blood every time they consume meat. Witnesses can try to justify this all they want, but they are being totally two-faced about what Bible laws they follow. Ask the next Witness you run into whether they consume blood-containing meat or not. By the way, COOKING meat does NOT magically remove all the blood contained in it!!!

Watchtower Dec 2014 page 4
by Mr Fool inwt dec-2014 page4: "a bulgarian woman named irana rigthly observed, -it is not posspible to be close to god if you don t know his name.
".
if so many know his name, why this debate "jehovah vs yahweh" then?.

I don't believe there is a 'God', but it would be safe to say that Jesus himself commanded his followers to use the term 'Our Father' when speaking to God. How can the JWs argue with that?? But honestly, the whole 'Name' thing is so utterly idiotic. Does 'God' sign his name as 'Jehovah' on legal documents??? JWs most assuredly think so.

FLASH!!!!!! GET AS FAR AWAY FROM THAT WOMAN AS POSSIBLE!!! THEY'LL ALWAYS GO RUNNING BACK TO THE ELDERS AT SOME POINT. SAME ADVICE GOES FOR A WOMAN WANTING TO MARRY AND HAVE A CHILD WITH A JW-INFLUENCED GUY. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! FIND A PERSON TO MARRY WHO HAS NO CONNECTION TO THE JWs OR ANY OTHER HARD-CORE RELIGION. YOU WANT TO MARRY A PERSON, NOT A RELIGION!!!!!

I'm curious about the Publisher Record Card.
by HowTheBibleWasCreated ini was once told that a publisher had the right to examine their own record card.. what would happen if a publisher examined it and threw it out?.

The Publisher Record Card is only 'important' to those simple souls who still buy into the whole JW Game. It has no relevance whatsoever out in the real world. So just ignore the whole issue....let those a-holes do with it what they will. A sure fire and 'final' way to solve the Publisher Record Card Problem is to just say 'piss off' and walk out the door, never to return. So many problems will be instantly solved by doing just that.

'God' doesn't 'save' anyone from Ebola because he doesn't exist. Period. End of story! In the same vein, God doesn't 'help' a sports team win a football game, either. It might be a nice, warm & fuzzy thought that there is an all-Powerful super-Daddy watching over us, just like our parents did when we were babies. But folks, it just isn't true. We are on our own with our fellow human beings. We must accept this reality and solve our own problems through our own efforts. Time to end the Magical Thinking and make Reality our religion!
