Hello New World: JW.org prepares for the Long Haul In the Old World

the prominently displayed text in the home page on jw.org is (predictably) matthew 24:14. but you do not have to be too keen-eyed to see something pivotal missing from the shortened verse.

it omits perhaps the most important part of the verse (well, important for an end-times religion).. this is how it reads on jw.org: "this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth.".

this is how it reads in the bible (nwt): "this good news of the kingdgom will be preached in all the inhabited earth and then the end will come.".

Yeah Steve2, you see them pulling back to a cruising altitude. I wondered if after the sale of the NY properties and the hundreds of millions coming in, if they would back off the pushing for money and free labor. Well they certainly have not. Multiple letters have been issued and read to the congregations asking for money and volunteers. This tells you they intend on sitting on that pile, making interest off of it, investing it, and so forth.

Interesting also that they are closing branches all over the world at the peak of their wealth. Very telling. I don't buy the "we don't need them now because we don't print as much literature" bit either. If they were focused on growth and expansion of the preaching work with the end of the system of things in sight, they would be full steam ahead. They would be using the branch offices for training and teaching and preparing for growth. Not happening.

They are consolidating and liquidating assets for a long cozy winter.

When do you ever see the authority and jurisdiction of the congregation discussed and elevated like this?

Uhh...Can you say never? So what makes this so different? Why would they subcontract to the congregations these precious and important matters and marks of true Christianity? (I think we know why)

Consider also that the first century "governing body" got involved with that widow situation, like mentioned in paragraph 13:

"Later, a situation developed locally. It was reported that certain “widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution” of food. So the apostles directed the appointment of qualified men who, in turn, made arrangements to ensure that the widows’ needs were adequately and equitably met."

Doesn't this set a precedent? Shouldn't the GB today be setting up committees to handle these needs of the sheep?

Nope. Not according to them. These things are not of their concern.

It is clear what the message of this article is:

"Don't call us for money!"

"Quit screwin' with our best employees.... I mean .....er.... full time servants over this silly parent stuff."

Their self-serving dribble is getting worse and worse.

It is clear they have a very warped view of money. They see the publishers as an endless well of funds that can be tapped anytime. The GB and writing staff have no clue what it takes to make money out here in the real world.

And they sure as heck never take any responsibility for creating these late-in-life financial disasters and obviously feel no obligation before their God to do anything about it.

the definition of insanity boils down to expecting success by repeating actions which cause failure.. .

jehovah's witnesses are expected to prove their loyalty to the organization by believing and practicing what they are told.. does this lead to success or failure?.

ask the thousands of loyal believers who were led to expect armageddon in 1914, 1925, 1975!.

I can't wait to see the numbers for baptisms in the U.S compared to the millions of hours spent in the ministry work.

I actually have my wife interested to see this little math equation when it comes out. I told her this stuff is just busy work. She is starting to wake up.

How about the first study article beating the sheep up with "be more self-sacrificing" and quit being selfish rotten imperfect sinners.

Only to turn around the next week and play nice with a "positve" article.

Tear 'em down, build them back up a little. Typical abuse pattern.

the bible reading was from "who is doing jehovah's will....the part where they asked who was the fds.

Yeah Doug I was thinking that too.

There are tons of holes in their latest "light". They just skip centuries, like it's no big deal.

I think it was too tempting for them to write off Russell and that chapter of craziness from the FDS history. I'm sure they secretly salivated over elevating themselves above the apostles too.

Gotta love the "humility" of all the anointed getting the same reward in heaven. Just sit down and shut up for now though partakers. God said so. LOL
