Holy Bible. I would call it anything but Holy. A mumbo jumbo of ignorance, silliness, vengeance, arrogance, myths, contradictions, partiality, lewdness, a little of true history and a few sprinkles of good advice. Why is this cocktail considered Holy. Because the Bible says so.

Just because something is old, does not mean it is "Special" or "Sacred" or "Valuable"
by stuckinarut2 ina thought occurred to me that simply because something is old does not make it valuable or worthy of sacred reverence.. the bible is held up as sacred just because it is "old" and apparently preserved.. but, that does not make sense.
if in thousands of years someone finds a notebook of my scribbles or sketches that i threw away, that doesn't elevate them to "valuable status" simply because they survived.
they were thrown away because they were worthless.. or if an archaeologist finds an ancient broken bit of pottery that was used for garbage disposal, it doesn't change its status from what it once was - a garbage bin.. i guess what i am trying to ask is, why is it that we as humans give value to writings just because they are old?.

When I was in this CULT, I was so afraid to say to my JW associates and even to my wife, that the meetings are boring and Field service is another useless and pointless activity. Many a times I would pretend that I was excited by the boring and the ever repetitive talk from the platform or from any new books , number of people getting baptized and so on. In my inner self, there was this nagging thought that these are too good to be true and too silly to do(Field Service and reporting the time). Whenever I go on field service every Saturday morning, I would feel that this is the most childish and silly thing to do, to go and preach about some silly non sense. Ahhhh,,, feeling so liberated now

My sincere advise is, read a lot about the doomsday cults in History. This "End of Day" panic alarm has happened thousands of times in history, by various christian denominations. Nothing happened and we are still here. Educate yourself about this universe and its REAL history. This planet will survive all along, unless destroyed by mankind or by any astronomical Disaster, like the hit of an asteroid. Religions want to control you through FEAR. Become immune to it.

Thanks for your time in drafting that lengthy email. I think i am not under the influence of Marie Antoinette Effect. But rather, scrutinizing all religions, especially Christianity, with an open mind and just reading the Bible as it is, for what ts says. With this approach, I find the Bible to contain too many discrepancies, contradictions, silliness, evilness and ignorance, to consider it to be the word of god. Also, your statement as quoted, implies to me that you are trying hard to retrofit those verses to defend god and project it in a favorable light.
The "bad" or "evil spirit" mentioned in these texts is a euphemism for a mental disorder.

Last weekend I was watching Darkmatter2525 on youtube and came across this new thing in the Bible. Jehovah has evil spirit!! Was just wondering how I didn’t come across this absurdity when I was a JW for 11 years. Also, I have never heard an explanation on this from the Kingdom Hall Platform, or have I missed.
Jah is supposed to be the holy of holies and an epitome of perfection. How can he have evil spirit? This sounds Absurd and ridiculous to me. (Along with all the absurdities in the Bible). Another credible proof that the Bible was written by senseless and ignorant people. Have any of you heard an explanation for this during your life as a JW? Of course if we ask a JW about it, I bet that they would spin it such as “Its actually not an Evil spirit but Jahs Anger”
