The real reason the WBATS don't want you in college!!!
by ADJUSTMENTS inthe wbats have ramped up no college for jws once again.
the first time they backed off of it is because they noticed a person flipping hamburgers or cleaning toilets are not able to donate much money... so the wtbats says lets allow them to at least get a 2 year degree, then they can donate a little more... this goes on for awhile, but then the wbats notice that many who go to college are leaving...
well because they gain knowledge and distance themselves from the cult and it's ignorance, have access to outside sources, and eventually learn ttatt!!!

They are no longer ignorant and flipping burgers... So the WBATS say OH NO we have to stop the bleeding we are loosing even more donations than before!!! So now it's back to no college and flipping burgers for everyone!!! I know it sounds like a joke but it's the truth in laymans terms... The WBATS is a bunch of @$&$%#!!!

WHY MANY GET STUCK IN!
by ADJUSTMENTS infrom my experience as a jw i noticed that myself, and many young ones do not have a choice in the decision of becoming a jw or not.
from infancy you are indoctrinated, so by the time you become a teenager and just begining to reason on right and wrong and what you will do with your life it has already been decided.
so at this moment in your late teens you come to a cross roads... if you decide not to be a jw you will be mentally and emotionally beaten, threatened and oustracized bordering on abuse.

From my experience as a JW I noticed that myself, and many young ones do not have a choice in the decision of becoming a JW or not. From infancy you are indoctrinated, so by the time you become a teenager and just begining to reason on right and wrong and what you will do with your life it has already been decided. So at this moment in your late teens you come to a cross roads... If you decide not to be a JW you will be mentally and emotionally beaten, threatened and oustracized bordering on abuse. So your options are null and void. You have no money to leave your home because your parents were taught not to get a good education and job and just rely on jehovah, so you followed the same direction and can barelinsurances phone bill let alone an apartment. Everyone you can turn to for assistance are all JWs and are in the same boat and if learned of your position wouldn't help you and oustracize you also. You have no outside family or friends to turn to because you couldn't associate with them. You have been taught to be so afraid of the big evil world that running away and living on the street is not an option. You havent learned TTATT so you think weird and freaky JWs are right even though you just don't want to be a weird and freaky JW!!! So your STUCK between a ROCK and a HARD place. Just suck it up and become a JW or live a life of hell on the outside (as taught by WBATS) with no assistance from freinds or family. If you don't get baptized by 20 and barely go in service or make meetings you are ostracized by other JWs (pretty much disfellowshipped) and miss out on outings and activities with other JWs! You become lonely and so you decide to get baptized and suck it up and try to rationalize being a JW and accepting it as life, I know I did, so when I finally learned TTATT it was shocking and life changing to say the least...
So pretty much in a nutshell being born in as a JW your option of not becoming a JW is almost not possible...

Shunning: How would You Overcome it?
by ABibleStudent inafter reading the thread soon to be 18 and quit speaking to her mother- suggestions?, i started thinking of how to use the wtbts's doctrine to help jws to see what is the real purpose of shunning for the wtbts.
hopefully, some good ideas will be posted to this thread and may help exjws and jws to maintain relationships with each other instead of shunning the non-jws.. how would a jw react to the following?.
do christians shun or not associate with non-jws to help non-jws believe that the wtbts has the "truth", to keep the cong clean of non-believers, or to not be shunned?

The attraction of being a JW is the SO CALLED love with a clause (conditional love), until you see that you are not accepted for who you are. If you don't fit the mold that love is taken away... It's then called shunning. So it's pretty much play to stay as a JW! I'm so glad I'm on my way out! It's a FAKE religion!!! Christendom isam much better alternative no pun intended!

Marriage only possible as an M.S. as a JW???

to get anywhere with a sister at least a decent sister.
i'm wondering if others felt this way?

I'm wondering if others felt this way? It was something my friends and I would discuss... Dating as a JW is hell already, as I felt I needed to marry only in the lord!

Can the elders make up stuff to make sure that a brother pretty much never gets to be elder?
by toto555 init's been my observation that if the elders really want a brother to become elder, then they will come up with all the reasons in the world to appoint him.
the reverse is also true.
if the elders really don't want a brother to become elder, then they will make up all sorts of reasons not to appoint him despite perhaps the brothers many years in the truth, great talks, spirituality etc.

I became an M.S. to truly help the Elders and the congregation from the heart( also to get married lol). After serving as an M.S. for several months I begin to see the real politics behind the curtain, and my joys of serving became sorrows... I was just going through the motions trying to figure out how this could be GODS organization??? At the time I had no idea about TTATT. I was just forcing myself to believe it had to be the truth and this is just the way GOD directs things so it has to be okay! SMH! My desire to become a elder was no existent, my desire to continue as a M.S. was also gone, so I was just going through the motions to not step down and cause a commotion... The JW theology is such a JOKE!

by confusedandalone inso i grew up in new jersey in a very urban part of the state.
i literally only saw white folks if they were in a police car or if i went to the assembly.
the funny thing is at the assembly there was still a level of segregation as well although it was self-imposed.

Yes racism is alive and well within JWs, not to say all are, but Ive seen it from both ends of the spectrum. Its almost too TABOO to mention... Like never in JAHS Borg would things like that ever happen... The funny thing is I've never seen a WT study actually address the issue...Probably one sentence in a paragraph at the most, but never a whole article dedicated to addressing this issue of racism within the organization. They cover everything else very well. I think it would put many elders in the hot seat and ruffle too many feathers in the Borg. They just want to just keep sweeping it under the rug and continue to hide the TRUTHS as usual. Hoping it disappears because their old comments on the topic are not flattering to say the least.

jesus looks like an american folk singer, the governing body look like a corrupt version of an enron luncheon.. the jw's literally print different magazines for africa with african pictures, black people instead of white, to make it 'more appealing' to them.... just to be clear that means they think the opposite is true too!.
....and then there is the lack of black angels..... .

JWs is a WHITE american based religion that just so happend to have the money, resources and persausion to fly around the world, drop, literature and find those who were weak and desperate and would believe almost anything, especially seeing there dead loved ones again and living forever, that they could manipulate into spreading there lies. At the same time 7 million people is a drop in a large bucket when compared to the billions upon billions alive today. So the WBATS didn't do a vey good job. They just have the money and manipulative literature to make you think so...
Islam has the largest amount of followers on earth, making it the largest religion with numbers in the billions and there are no white angels, prophets or leaders there, I wonder why many whites don't like them? Hmmm... lol

Satan has used racism since the beginning of time... It's just one of his old tricks that never fails. Humans are very visual and instinctive animals... So when Barrack was elected president it just stirred those nasty muddy waters of racism of old, that over time settled to the bottom, back up to the top. I believe when a group who has had power for many years, then looses it literaly overnight it can be very traumatizing for that group, they are trying to keep from loosing ground in society, for example last year there were more minority babies born than white babies so its a matter of time before whites will be the minority, so I believe that's why the white folks are lashing out with so much venom in secular society. With that being said until GOD comes and corrects it, it will never go away.

an advocate?.
why don't they have a group of unbiased men, a prosecutor to present the case against you and an advocate that would represent the accused?

Thedog1 I truly respect you and your responses on this forum. With that said your first response was pretty loaded, but the Gopher hit the nail on the head! We all were sucked into this, as you so lovely stated, play to stay religion, and we all were, in a nut shell LIED to!!! It's hard to view it in that way but it's the truth. Wether our parents taught us because they were taught the same lie and there grandparents and so on, or someone came to us in the field and taught us the same lie they were taught... It's PRIDE that wants to keep us from believing what we were taught was the whole time all wrong and a lie, and everyone we ever defend the truth to might be right! It's a big pill to swallow but if you are truly humble as the bible speaks about you can swallow it. I had to go through this process and still am and it's getting a little easier. So you were an elder and was taught to reason as such with so called bible based scriptures, such as the CLASSIC one you used given to you by WBATS and misapplied horribly: to remove the WICKED man from among yourselves... That word WICKED is a very strong word to just throw around at someone and use it loosely. WICKED is not 99% of the cases that come before the elders. WICKED would be almost satan himself coming before you. It's someone who is unrepentant, meaning they did not repent to GOD, not mere imperfect men, and they are continuing in their sinful course and are not going to repent to GOD in the foreseeable future, so someone like that needs to be removed! someone like that you don't need to DISCERN repentance because they have expressed being unrepentant so clearly! Someone like that will not even come before the elders to allow them to discern anything... So someone who comes before the elders usually has already repented to GOD and all they need to do is confess and recieve some sort of spiritual comfort and direction from the older men in the congregation greasing them with oil, not JUDGEMENT! I don't care how many times they err, it's not for man to JUDGE! I'm sure if every person that has erred who did not go before the elders with there errors there would be no more JWs because everyone would be d'fd! So because of this there are a lot of depressed, low self esteem, guilty JWs walking around because they did not confess their sins to the elders due to the probabilty of being judged, d'fd, and torn away from their family and friends. This is the only thing I think CATHOLICS got right (sarcastically speaking) with the confessionals. Most JWs if they were d'fd would never return so that's the real issue facing elders. So in a nutshell no man is qualified to judge another man. This is most vivid in most secular JUDICIAL systems were the blind scales are NEVER balanced!!!
