  Scary21. Erm, the pictures of the tree on Facebook may have given it away! Oh, and the kids telling everyone. Funny thing is, my wife has a long term illness and hardly ever got to the meetings. She did want to at the time. After many debates with an elder when I started to drift, he said"be careful what you say". After that, I feel he deliberately let me get away. He could see I was a lost cause but didn't want me to feel the consequences of my big mouth. Since then, the elders have tried to contact my wife about 2 or 3 times. Once the same elder knocked on the door with the CO, unannounced,while I was out. No further contact for her until now. It's too late boys! She has seen it for what it is. Fake concern.

  I couldnt help myself. I texted him earlier and said thanks for your concern. I feel sorry for you mate, having to call me. He answered " don't worry about me, we are just concerned for your family". He probably means it. Nice guy really. Still, too little, too late. Not sorry though. One out all out and enjoying freedom

  Strange indeed skeeter1. i know what you mean! Haha. I didn't want him to think I'd gone and joined some wacky religion! (Again) The kids wanted it, my wife agreed, so we went all out, just for the fun of it. I'm surprised it took so long for it to get to this. Five months. Not bad really. it's now almost three years since I first expressed by doubts. There are only a handful of witnesses talking to us now. My brother and his family cut us off a few months ago. I feel sorry for them. How long do they wait for the big A until they wake up and realise it ain't appening? What a waste!

  Had a call from an elder a few weeks ago, asking if he could visit. Managed to get away with saying thanks but no thanks. Had another one tonight. "We've heard you celebrated Christmas last year"! He caught me between clearing broken glass, a noisy four year old and cooking dinner. Couldn't think quickly enough and just said that's right mate. "Can we talk with you about it?" What is there to talk about? I had to leave it there as chaos surrounded me.

  Thinking back on it the first thing he said was I'm on speaker and his 18 year old son is there. i didnt twig until then. "Two witnesses"! Sneaky. I suppose he did warn me.

  I texted him him later and said I didn't want to talk. Then texted again and said that I wanted to make it clear I didn't 'celebrate' Christmas, I just put a tree up and gave my kids presents. I didn't want to be disfellowshipped for that. if they are going to do it they should do it for apostasy!! I told the elders what I thought of the religion and the bible right from the start. Hey ho! My immediate family are out anyway and we are all shunned so no big deal. i would dissociate before they do it but don't want to go along with the JW system. It been a funny old week. :-)

  i miss playing guitar and singing with my 'ex friends' in a band.

  we used to play at cong 'do's'.

  not particularly good but can get by.

  it seems like at least once a month he is brought up as a good example in the study wt.

  it seems like he is given more praise than jesus.

  I could never accept the WT reasoning in this characters behavior. One of the main things that woke me up was the acceptance of this brute as some kind of good example. Good job I think the bible is all myth.

  I was on the tiling team. We mostly worked nights which meant the site was much more quiet. It was a laugh at times. The late night curry always went down well. I also did a very short stint on first aid. The responsibility on that team scared me. I chickened out of that! Then there was the night security. Having been in the building trade all my working life, it was difficult to keep your mouth shout when things weren't being managed in the most sensible way. Some of the work wasn't the best quality, that's for sure.
