slimboyfat, yes I have heard that argument as well....not enough trees. Well that makes perfect sense then. If you have a single pole or poles stuck in the ground at some place and have the one being executed carry only a smaller piece (as indicated in the Bible), you would use less trees. Instead of a whole tree per person, you could get a two for one deal out of each tree.

w 1951 3/15 the above agrees with the new world translation of the christian greek scriptures in its appendix, page 769, in saying that the instrument upon which jesus was nailed was a stake without a crossbeam, and not the religiously represented “cross”; and that the greek word used for that instrument in ancient time meant a “stake” and not the conventional religious cross.

George, 607 can be dismissed using the Bible alone. Its just getting a jw to accept what the Bible actually says. While there are no actual dates, the Bible does show that the time period the jw's claim is impossible.

by why144000 inaccording to john 20:22 the apostles did not receive the holy spirit until after jesus was resurrected.
wouldn't this make them part of 'the other sheep' when they partook of the bread and wine?.

Judas WAS a partaker! He was there and Jesus handed Judas the bread. Matthew 26:20-29, Mark 14:17-25 and John 13:21-30.....especially verse 30.
30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.
Each account is a description of the Lord's supper and the prediction of who would betray Jesus.
So was Judas anointed? or of the Great crowd?
Neither! Luke 22:3 "3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve."
This was prior to the Lord's supper, but he still partook.

It's right there in our faces, how could we NOT see it?
by NikL ini know there have been many many posts on here over the years on the deity of jesus.. i am submitting this one because i am feeling a little confused.. the thing is, i am not the sharpest knife in the drawer and i know this.
so when i am going through my bible reading (to all you haters, yes i still do it) i see so many scriptures that just fly in the face of everything the jws teach about jesus.. i begin to wonder if indeed i am diseased in the mind ,as they will try to paint me, because it seems so plain to me.. i never even gave it a though growing up as to if jesus and god were equal.
i just didn't.. now when i read scriptures like philippians 9.... 9 for this very reason, god exalted him to a superior position+ and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name,+ 10 so that in the name of jesus every knee should bend—of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground+— 11 and every tongue should openly acknowledge that jesus christ is lord+ to the glory of god the father.. .

Child abuse/pedophilia from among their clergy and the cover up of it to save face. They loved it when the Catholics got caught, but now they're dealing with the SAME thing.
"Oh, but the wt doesn't have a clergy!" -----they're called elders and circuit overseers and minstrial servants, etc. Same thing!
Who are YOU to determine what others consider respectful? If one (singular or plural) feels not worthy of uttering God's name, who are you to condemn that? What business is it of yours? The wt claims that the Jews distorted the Bible by not including God's name. Who wrote it in the first place? JEWS! Talk about distortion, "Jehovah" was NEVER in ANY Greek manuscript of the New Testament, NEVER! That is the insertion by uneducated wt writers from a name created by a Catholic Monk in 1287.

satans system of things with jehovahs blessing , has programs to look after those who have such needs , such as the dole for unemployed ,medical assistance for those who cant afford it ,and their are many charitable institutions that look after those that fall in the cracks.

Memorial Attendances This Year
by steve2 inhave attendance figures at this year's memorial been released yet, including number of partakers?
sometimes the kingdom ministry (now called christian life and ministry) provided local figures say for the country.. for two to three years the worldwide figure has hovered around the 19 plus million, with a drop off in attendance last year.. just wondered if there has been any change this year or if the downward trend has continued?
