Still a hard line on DF family members WTApr15 2012
by Gladring inthe april 2012 wt study article has some of the most strongly worded statements about contact with disfellowshipped family members.. page 12, paragraph 17: -.
good that can come when a family loyally.
upholds jehovahs decree not to associate.

I think it really works against them. If the motive is to associate with family, it's not a win "for Jehovah." And I think the cut-off really helps those wanting to make a break since you don't have family pleading with you to come back. It is unloving, shunning is, but I don't think the WTS gets what they want from it.

But it will be explained away as theocratic strategy. Of course they are cowards!
And welcome to the board!

Some Balls in the March 2012 WT
by Yan Bibiyan insource here, page 19, par 20:.
"20 a north american brother writes:.
when my wife and i attended an assembly.

It also reinforces that you can find all you need to know in the WT publications. This is subtle and blatant at the same time! No going to a real library and doing research, keep everyone's head in the dark.

Two more youths get kicked out of the organization, also kicked out of their house.
by JonathanH inso i used to work with these two younger gentlemen back when i washed windows for a local elder's company.
good kids, sons of an elder, responsible and hardworking.
i ran into him the other day briefly and he said him and his younger brother moved in together (they are about 19, and 18, maybe 20, and 18), and i was surprised.

I hope this doesn't sound harsh, but this may be an example of shunning working as a benefit; they will be left alone to figure things out without constant pleading to return. I know it made it easier for me. If my family had been begging and pleading with me to return, it would have been more difficult to make my way out. Shunning is a terrible practice, so unloving, yet I believe it backfires for the borg in that it gives time to think. I hope they never go back but make very successful lives for themselves!
