Update on roommate situation, I moved out found my own place:)
by andys inhi awhile back i posted about my asian roommate that is from thailand, i made a decision to move out of the house and now am in my own apartment:) i feel that i will be able to much more better control the situation if jw's come to the door, that one time seeing the watchtower and awakes laying out on the coffee table was enough to cause me too much anxiety and now am happy to be on my own and since then the anxiety has gone down and am more relaxed, also something else i learned having a roommate was not the most biggest cost savings, i might even be able to save more money being on my own, it got frustrating at times when i go and buy food and half the food i buy was eaten now i don't have to worry about anyone in the frig in my food:) and another plus am closer to work, work is only 1.5 miles away:).

Your LAST door
by RAYZORBLADE injust curious.
would anyone like to share, if they feel like it, their memory of the last door they ever knocked on?
i was with about 3 or 4 other people, all sisters.

I don't remember my last door but remember the last two times "out in service" and thinking I couldn't keep going. I'd talked to several really nice people who weren't interested at all but were kind, didn't want to be mean. I realized I just couldn't accept that they'd be destroyed just because they didn't want to listen. There were other things going on in my brain, but this was one of the last nails, so to speak.
So glad I'm out as are all my kids!

September 11, 2001- Where were you?
by SophieG ini work at a major airline in the in-flight training department.
i was sitting at the desk on the computer, i kid you not... writing the security (hijacking) curriculum for 2002, when someone came in and told me a plane flew into the wtc.
we all thought it was one of our planes.

I was in the middle of a staff meeting at the study-abroad office at the University of Michigan. Our assistant director got a phone call from his wife saying she'd heard the first tower was hit. Most didn't believe it. After the meeting, I went to the ground floor of the student union where big TVs were showing everything live. Surreal. We dealt with panicked parents and offered to bring home their kids from programs if they wanted. Only one had their student come back.
My ex husbands wife calle me wanting to know what to do for him. Though we'd been out of the borg for several years, he thought the big A had begun and was not able to function. He shook for weeks (literally trembled) before he got over it.
My daughter and spouse were visiting from Europe and wondered when they'd get back home. We watched TV together.

Has anyone Gone off WHEAT (I am thinking of it , too)
by dreamgolfer inlet me know how you get your fiber?.
-
Emma
It is easy to get too many refined carbs on a wheat-free, gluten-free diet. I make a good oatmeal muffin with oats and sorghum flour. While I do use 1/4 cup of sugar, it could be replaced with agave or stevia.

Bulgur and spelt are both wheat.
I'm off wheat because I have Celiac Disese. In baking I use lots of sorghum flour and quinoa flour, both high in fiber and protien.
Eat lots of fruit and veggies!

to date JWism has defined my life and i hate that TRUTH
by oompa inand i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.
but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .
how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?

After having "automatic" friends, making real friends takes a bit of work. It's worth the effort because they will be real friends. I'm trying to remember when I left 20 years ago. (Yikes! That long?!) I did join a church (Unitarian Universalist) and have a couple of close friends from that. I like to sing, joined an informal group. Struck up conversations with neighbors, invited them over for coffee. I made friends with coworkers. I realized that what I used to count as friends were high in number and short on committment.
It takes time Oompa but you'll get there one friend at a time!

"we were just talking...shes not free to remarry...we werent flirting or doing anything wrong"
by WuzLovesDubs inthats what my soon to be exhusband just said to me.
i finally after 25 years of dealing with him and the jws and a litany of other shit, told him two weeks ago i want out.
he wrote me a letter this week and made a list of allllll the things he hates: about my beliefs, the fact that i left jehovah, broke my vows to god, my hobbies, celebrations, what i watch on tv, my parenting, keeping the kids out of the jws, not having any friends....and then said well i dont hate "you".

You've been betrayed and it hurts no matter how much leaving is your idea. I was in your place, worked on getting out of the marriage without causing hurt feelings (as much as that's possible) and trying to ease the kids into it. Within a couple of weeks after he finally left, I found out he'd been having an affair for nearly a year! I was pissed!
It won't take long for you to get past this and thank her for making it easier.
Some men just need another boat to jump on to when they see theirs sinking!

How true, Wasblind! They'll continue to look the other way. Must be big checks in that contribution box. Doesn't she "allow" Michael's kids to celebrate Christmas, too?

He's not just roaming free; he's a registered sex offender. This will bring his name up to the public in a big way and act as a warning to others.
