They are comprised of the Greater Earthworm Class and the Other Earthworms, not of this soil
Ahh, Now I understand. It's a shame the bored looking street witness didn't seem to have a clue
is it back in vogue with the dubs?
i took my wife to see bombay dreams at the theatre last weekend.
(recommended) after the show and while wandering around leicester sq, i noticed a guy selling magazines.

in a way im glad the wts has hinted that mobile phones are expensive, time wasting, immoral devices.
anything to reduce the number of people shouting into plastic blocks on public transport gets my vote.
however they go as far as to assume that young people who have one will use it to talk to members of the opposite sex!
In a way I’m glad the WTS has hinted that mobile phones are expensive, time wasting, immoral devices. Anything to reduce the number of people shouting into plastic blocks on public transport gets my vote. However they go as far as to assume that young people who have one will use it to talk to members of the opposite sex! And worse…WHEN AN ADULT IS NOT PRESENT!
“Since the calls come directly to the individual, not to the home, there is a danger of parents not being aware of whom their kids are talking to or even whether they are on the phone or not. Some youths thus use mobile phones to establish secret contact with those of the opposite sex.”
This must really have opened the eyes of some parents. Who would have thought that their young Christian daughter might actually consider talking boys? However, a young girl mentioned later in the article, is saved from her slutty ways by the loving intervention of the Elders:
“When Keiko, a 17-year-old Christian girl, started using a mobile phone, she let many of her friends know her number. Soon she started exchanging messages every day with a boy in her congregation. Keiko says: "At first we just talked about everyday things, but then we started sharing our troubles. We created our own little world. Happily, she received help from her parents and the Christian elders before things got too serious”
Phew. That was close. Young Keiko, the 17 year-old Christian girl almost…I’m not actually sure what she almost did, but it must have been bad because the Elders intervened. All is made clear in a small footnote printed at the bottom of the page:
“Regularly talking to or exchanging messages with a member of the opposite sex over the phone could be a form of dating. Please see the article "Young People Ask—What's Wrong With Talking to Each Other?" in the August 22, 1992, issue of Awake!”
So, now unless young people are considering marriage, talking/txting a member of the opposite sex will get you in heaps of trouble. Just like Young Keiko, the 17 year-old Christian girl, who almost did something wrong. She must have been so happy to have the guiding hand of Jehovah’s organization in the form of an elder demanding to read all her personal txt messages. Oh what joy.
I’m looking forward to the next article entitled “The immoral dangers of a Mobile phone vibrate mode and young women”
The above article can be found at www.watchtower.org for anyone bored enough to bother….

Is it back in vogue with the Dubs? I took my wife to see Bombay Dreams at the theatre last weekend.(Recommended) After the show and while wandering around Leicester Sq, I noticed a guy selling magazines. He had a foldaway table and chair set, a couple of old brochures and only two, two month old copies of the Watchtower+Awake. I asked him if he had any of the recent releases. He said that these were new releases. After flicking through one of the Awakes! (I'd read it a fortnight ago) I asked for his thoughts on why such an life saving religous publication would offer articles on the life of an earthworm? Did it have some deep theocratic meaning that could only be explained through research with his publications? He ignored me. I stood and watched him squirm for a bit and waited for an answer, but my wife got bored and dragged me away...Hohum
it was brought out at recent meeting that we must stay close to "jehovah's organization" and follow closely the "admonitions" found in the watchtower magazine because we know that the information found in the watchtower is given directly to us by jehovah himself.
question for the believing witness?
1) if by your own teaching's you believe that jehovah is a god of truth and cannot ever tell non -truths, how do you explain why the watchtower has changed it's "understanding" of scriptures so many times?
You'd be lucky to get any answer. Jehovah’s Witnesses have been "trained" to not even contemplate questions like that. It will not get them thinking. It will not keep them awake at night, and you can bet that it wont spur them on to seek answers from other witnesses. In my experience, it is better to pose questions or make statements when the opportunity arises. When I bumped into an old JW friend in the supermarket and she showed disgust at me having blood sausages in my trolley, I asked her what was the difference between transfusing "haemopure" (processed cows blood) , and eating pigs blood. She got herself in a tangle explaining that one.
I personally think blatant questions about errors in WT doctrine are a complete waste of time. If anything, it strengthens their faith! Keep it subtle.
It was worth leaving the dubs just to eat blood sausages...Mmmmmm
my sister just got a visit from the elders.
this was the first visit in 10 years.
an inactive friend told me they are supposed to visit every year.
I was taking my kids to the park the other day, when I saw an Elder from my old congregaton on the service. I went over to say hello, and he asked how I was. I told him that in the 11 years since left the org, that was the first time any witness has asked me how I was. He just smiled and walked away
did any of you ever see the waterboy with adam sadler and kathy bates?
i know it's an old movie, but i was watching it with my kids and i had to laugh aloud.
kathy bates plays the cajun mom of the mentally borderline bobby boucher, and i just know she was a witness!!!
You're absolutley right! Our Kingdom hall was full of "Waterboys" who lived sheltered, retarded lives....and far too many KathyBates characters who frightened Elders. Mind you, I cant imagine THAT would be too difficult
i have been reading the threads for about a year now and thought its time to post my story.
i cant remember much up until i was ten except the usual no birthdays, no worldly friends or bad associates.
then it was a series of arguments of why i didnt what to go to church.
Welcome Teela,
Just wish you were in my Congregation back then. We could have rebelled together.
Too many to mention, but the best Gig? It's gotta be Prince's 1988 Lovesexy Tour.
my sister-in-law's husband was raised as a jehovahs witness in north yorkshire and was educated at home by his mother along with his 5 brothers and sisters.
i remember many years ago when it first became common knowledge, many brothers and sisters thought that this method of education was ideal for witnesses who wanted to remain separate from the world, but all the kids from our congregatation had a state education.
i guess my question is, was home education only limited to my in-laws husbands family, or were any of you educated at home?
we all know that Krusty can't read....
.
is there any way to get the dateline program "witness for the prosecution" or the bbc program "suffer the little children"?
Simon,
Will this be something you will be making availible for all? I'm desperate to see the Dateline prog.
