A couple of years after I left I threw the 'blood card' away. A couple of years after that I realised that my file at the doctor's still contained my request to not receive blood, so I went to the doctor and asked him what it said in my file... He then looked in the computer and said that it stated that I was a JW and didn't want blood. So I told him to change it since I no longer was one of the JW's and I do accept blood if I need it. Because of that we had a very nice chat which took a lot longer than the ten minutes he should have given me.

Crying in dream part 2
by Gorbatchov inmaybe you remember my post about my experience 3 weeks ago, waking up crying loud because i was dreaming about my mentaly disabled brother.. i am sure it was a warning sign.
my brother is now hospialized and in a half coma situation.. my parents are broken and on dinial, thinking he will be the same as before the incident.. they are praying for armageddon, so he will be a normal healthy person.. today i visited them all and did see the effect of the watchtower unrealistic predictions and how this mentally effect my parents.. i pray for my brother he will have no pain during this stage of his life.. so, the dream seems a signal, an alarm signal for me.
maybe my brother, who can not speak at all, sended it out to me, living 100 km away.. gorby.

So sorry for you and your family. Must be hard to see them this way, knowing everything you know and observing them as an outsider (seen from a JW-view).
My ex-husband's grandmother died yesterday, so there's a candle lit here already... I'll light another one for you too.
Some dreams are messages, others are just images and emotions that need to be processed by the subconscious. It's hard to tell what dreams contain a message... but sometimes we subconsciously know there's something wrong and then dream about it. There's not only our five senses, energetically we can sense a lot more than you would normally expect.
Sterkte Gorby

Feeling both happy and sad for you. At least one stress factor will be out of the way, no more worries about fading, wondering if you should DA or be DF'd... Now it's time to build your new life, as a free human!

Sing Dirges to Jehovah?
by donny inback in 1985 my then-wife and i were having a lunchtime "gathering" at our place to show some support to the ones in our congregation who were full-time pioneers.
i had just recently received the vinyl collection of the songs featured in the song book "sing praises to jehovah" which had been released the previous year.. .
many of these melodies sounded depressing to me although i would have never admitted it at the time.

Oh Data-Dog you really had me there, my husband had to cover his ears, for I was laughing so hard!!!!
Like losingit I did like the orchestral version (I *ahum* must admit that I listened to those cassettes very often... *looks embarrassed* ). But overall most of the songs were depressing and very much like military marches (but my dad always loved march music, so I did happen to like those kind of songs since I grew up with all kinds of military songs... of which I didn't have a clue that they were military of course and I doubt if my father ever understood that... and my dad is a German *oh gosh, this feels like i'm making it worse with every word I type* hahahaha)
Anyway, thanks for putting back those songs back in my head (not really thankful... aaaaargh!!!)... even reading the English words brought up the Dutch words to several songs again.... (Let op hoe je gaat en ook hoe je staat, wees wijs en waakzaam te allen tijd... deeeeeeeee gelegen tijd uitkopend, daaaaar de dagen god'loos zijn....)
Muchas gracias...
De nada....
My dad used to play the organ in the KH as well. So at home we were taught how to play them too... in fact, the only book I've kept was the songbook... Must still have it somewhere... My brother is even on YouTube playing some of the "Kingdom Melodies"... Oh well, I think I'll go and memorize the new lyrics Data-Dog has provided....
HAHAHAHAHAHA Data-Dog you're hilarious, really! HAHAHAHA

Are Men's Rights Laughable?
by Paralipomenon inreading over the woody allen thread i noticed a couple things but didn't want to side track the "discussion".
1) woody allen is creepy.
2) nobody really seemed to care that his ex-wife was abusive towards her children.. an example i think is perfect was the release of twilight where you would see lineups of 30-40 year old women making very inappropriate comments about a 16 year old boy.

Ouch, that sounds like a horrible situation you're in, Stillin... so sorry for you And as a witch I might add: why the heck is she abusing a broomstick???

JW. org: "No, we are not a cult. We do not look to any human as our leader."
by Faithful Witness ini know this has been rehashed, time and again, but i saw this interesting blip on jw.org last night, and did a little thinking about it.... jw.
org answers the important question that so many have... are jehovah's witnesses a cult?.
jehovah's witnesses do not look to any human as their leader.

My husband has lost his son thanks to a vindictive ex-wife who accused him of physical abuse, which never happened, and even the judge didn't buy into it (she made stories up right in front of the judge and within half an hour she added so much BS to it that he said something like "sorry m'am, but don't you find that hard to believe yourself? Your stories get extremer by the minute"). But even though the court was on the side of my husband, he never got to see his son again for nearly nine years now. His ex did the exact same thing with the daughters from her previous marriage. Took them away from their father for eight years and made one of them accuse her father for sexual abuse. Which of course also never happened and she knew it. Some women just get plain evil when they are jealous or angry with an ex-husband... especially when the ex-husband moves on with another woman.
