  Absolutely true slimboyfat. Just recently my never baptised sister celebrated her tenth year of being together with her partner. She invited my JW brother and sister, but they refused to come. They talked about their 'principles' and how they cannot 'support' our sister living together unmarried.
  
  But two years ago my brother had apparently no problem celebrating the baby shower of his unmarried daughter who was 15 at the time and accidentally got pregnant! At the time my non JW sister was delighted that he had become so 'free' in his thinking, and of course she went to that baby shower with presents and all. Only to find out that the 'freedom of thinking' our brother had back then, was a one way ticket towards himself and his family.
  
  It's disgusting how they treat and use people that aren't JWs.

  first off, if you are in an abusive household and don't have the means to leave, you need to get help immediately.

  contact the police.

  they have resources to help you, especially if you have proof.

  I could write a book with stories just like that and worse.... actually I've literally started writing it, just to get all that crap out of my system. My husband read the first pages and he had a horrible time because of it. For the very first time he really understood how abusive, in every possible way, the home was in which I grew up.

  My mom passed away yesterday....

  I'm so sorry for your loss, Perry. My condolences to you, your wife and kids. Must be hard to tell them this... and hard on you that you had to find out this way.

  It's unbelievable how heartless many JW's have become towards people outside their group.

  My thoughts are with you, can only try to imagine how you must feel... so sad.
