hi everyone,.

i'm researching 587 vs 607 for the date of the destruction of jerusalem... i'm not doing the research to prove or disprove anything about 1914, rather i'm looking at these dates in comparison to 1948 & 1967.. what is your view on relying on the cyrus cylinder, to accept 607 as the correct date of destruction... i know that there are many other factors.. but i'm trying to keep this portion of my research as simple as possible, so i'm primarily interested in the appropriateness of using the cylinders date of 537 + 70 = 607. one other question.. is it likely that both dates 587 & 607 have their own significance?.

Factual, false, or phenomenon?

this strikes me as strange.

in the last few years i have met four newly associated, and in a couple of cases baptized, brothers in the congregations who say that they did long stints in secret branches of the military and that they were behind the lines, "wet work" operatives.

i might have considered it exceptional that one person who served in such a capacity would even go to church, let alone join up with the likes of jehovah's witnesses.

Perhaps there are other factors in play? Might your location have anything to do with it? Is there a military base in your town?

I wonder if the 4 of them know each other.

Life in Pakistan

i live in texas, houston, and pakistan is not a shock to me since i have lived and travelled abroad, but i thought i would share some of the things i have noticed with you.. no one has microwaves.. their toilets are very modern flush toilets-flush with the floor.. the showers well, no stall, no tubs.

just a big room with a toilet and a sink and a shower faucet.. the electricity goes off at regular intervals during the day.

would not freak me out so much if we had any windows in this house!

1- Anyone that knows the Word of the Governing body! better than the Bible.

2- Anyone that in claims to be a worshiper of Jehovah, but in reality is a Worshiper of the ORG.

This same counsel has been in several magazines already this year! The primary concern that this WT is cautioning against, is the Apostasy in the Kingdom Hall and out in Field Service..

They underplay it.. But that is the real message. If a fellow JW brings up ANY unapproved questions, comments or opinions, immediately reject his unrighteousness.

The Conscious class is becoming bolder, and they are starting to ask Many,Many questions.

What is the main "idea" of the bible?

as jws we were often told what the theme of the bible is, we were taught that it was the promised seed.. i was recently asked the question.... what is the main "idea" of the bible?.

for me the whole purpose of the bible is about control.

it features a god that punishes and rewards.

Why do I bother to wake up in the morning?

i'm not suicidal just fed up.. i did think of suicide (briefly), but as there is no painless way and it's not something i would willingly do just in case things would have been better the day after.

i do have a slight grain of hope.. money problems.....problems at home (that's another matter with a son up court for something he is adamant he didn't do.

first offence but the pigs police and the cps have got charges made.

This reminded me of a conversation we had 2 months ago..

I said " Are you an Atheist now? If so, is your life void of Hope and Joy? Without faith in anything, how do you wake up every morning? I am curious, and it is not my intent to judge your point of view."

You scoffed at my question.. But I was serious.

Are you open to re considering if there is a God or not, and if there is anything in the world to have faith and hope in? I hope you are.. I can help you see things differently, when ever you are open to hoping again.
