  An email from a Jw "friend" to me (accusing me of apostasy) a few months back.

  i was going through old email and i came across the below email from a former acquaintance of mine who is a jw.

  when we were both jw's, we were both pretty liberal in our beliefs.

  its quite interesting how cognitive dissonance kicks in, for many & not too much for others.

  My "Un-Witnessing" Comments for this Upcoming Sunday's Watchtower.

  i won't be there (fortunately) but perhaps my warm encouragement and hard work, in preparing these comments will help someone, who has the burden of attending the meetings, give a good un-witness.. 3. while on earth, how did jesus follow his fathers example?.

  answer - jesus at john 9:4 gave us a very important reminder, he said "we must do the works of the one who sent me while it is day; the night is coming when no man can work.

  " the figurative night that jesus was likely referencing was amos 5:18 where it says "woe to those who yearn for the day of jehovah!

  the word in question is the hebrew word mishneh meaning "a double, copy, second" (http://strongsnumbers.com/hebrew/4932.htm) this word is a very specific word, which implies a double portion, or twice as much.. it is numerical and precise.. the new world translation translates this word as double in the below 2 scriptures :.

  isaiah 61:7 "instead of shame you will have a double portion, and instead of humiliation they will shout joyfully over their share.yes, they will possess a double (mishneh) portion in their land.

  everlasting rejoicing will be theirs.

  Was Jesus the Nazarene The Messiah / Promised in The Hebrew Scriptures?

  in seeking truth, and removing untruth, often more is removed then ever initially imagined possible.. christianity, claims that jesus was & is the messiah.

  this claim is primarily based on the writings of the greek scriptures.. throughout history, god has given signs to people, in order for them to believe.

  never has he become upset with an individual asking for a sign.. some individuals such as moses asked for multiple signs.

  JW Friend was Married this Weekend. Tutto è bene che riesce bene.

  a close jw friend of mine, got married this weekend.ever since he and i meet (13 years ago) when we were both 18 we've been close and we've experienced different life experiences together.. our qualities, have complemented each other well over the years..he the voice of responsibility and reservedness, & i the voice of spontaneity and passion.i taught him about life and he taught me about perseverance through trial.. i care about justice, he cares about reputation.he is a better person then i will ever be, but so stricken by society.. i always stuck my neck out for him, but our friendship was the thorn in his reputations side.he was on the path to mts, and i was on the path of frivolity.despite all this.. when the 2 of us were together, free from the scrutiny of the outside world he was himself, and he was a great friend.

  though naive about much, he always tried to do what he could to be a friend.. i was there when he and his now wife first started dating.. i envisioned him marrying her, and my wife & i spending many enjoyable times with them as a couple.. shortly after they meet my wife & i learned ttatt.. i explained my findings to him as i did with all my friends and family.

  he being a person, whom i perceived to have great deal of biblical knowledge, i expected valiant effort coming from him to "help me" see where i had erred.all i got was a email with 3 irrelevant watchtower articles & some even more irrelevant scriptures.. i would have surely been his best man, but instead another mutual jw friend was asked.i am not da'd or df'd but this is the pseudo non-invitation that he sent :.

  True Apostates (Part 2) The True Apostate.

  in my previous post "true apostates" :http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/287513/1/true-apostatesthe definition of apostate was given by phizzy - "a true apostate is someone who stands away/apart from a formerly held belief or religion or other group he was associated with, political say.".

  a synonym of apostasy is separation - anyone who seperates himself from a group that he is associated with, can properly be called an apostate.. the bible has many life stories of apostates.. all of the true sages in the scriptures were apostates.

  they cared for truth & justice above all else, and it was impossible for them to compromise on matters of true justice.. how did these men discern truth?

  all truly great men & women of past & present all have something in common.. they stand up for truth.. "i am not bound to win, but i am bound to be true.

  i am not bound to succeed, but i am bound to live by the light that i have.

  i must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.
